His business grew so rapidly that he decided to move his store into a larger building on Third Street. In 1876, he donated land to build an opera house which would later serve as the Raytown Music Hall. The early 20th century was a time of great change for Raytown – it saw its first electric streetcar service provide transportation within town limits in 1907! Additionally,1920 saw construction begin on what would become known as "The Great Chicago Fire" – which destroyed many businesses along Main Street in centralRaytown (including Hargrave's). Many of these losses were quickly replaced by new businesses opening up throughout downtown during this period of reconstruction. Despite some challenges (e.g., World War II), downtownRaytown continued to grow during this time period – becoming more vibrant and commercialized than ever before! Although hard hit by economic devastation following The Great Chicago Fire, downtownRaytown bounced back relatively quickly and experienced another wave of growth starting around 2000s when online marketing led to an increase in tourism opportunities for residents and businesses alike! This newfound prosperity has continued through today with several new restaurants/cafésopening up each year – giving Raytonians plenty of opportunity to enjoy quality coffee while they're here!

Raytown, Missouri is a town in St. Francois County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield–Springfield, MO Metropolitan Statistical Area. Raytown was founded by General John A. McClernand in 1849 as a small village on the east bank of the Arkansas River adjacent to what is now Springfield. The first courthouse and jail were built in 1851; both are still standing today and are notable for their architecture and for their role in providing law and order during the early days of Raytown's growth. The community grew rapidly during the late 19th century due to its location on the main stagecoach route between Springfield and Kansas City. In 1892, after being through tworeek gold mine strikes located just north of town, settlers voted to incorporate as a city under the name "Raytown." During World War I, Raytown became an important transportation center due to its location at the junction of several stagecoaches travelling between Springfield and Kansas City. The war also helped develop local businesses such as meatpacking plants and breweries that continued to operate until around 1970; these businesses have since been replaced by larger metropolitan areas in eastern Missouri or Illinois. In recent years, Raystown has experienced significant decline due to numerous factors including competition from larger towns across central Missouri; however, some residents continue to support downtown redevelopment proposals which plan to bring many new jobs into downtown Ray Town while preserving much of its historical character.

Raytown is a small town in Jackson County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. The first settler in Raytown was Levi Coffin in 1839. A post office called Raystown was established in 1847, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. The town site was surveyed by Captain James K. Polk on March 15, 1851, and platted on March 16, 1851 as part of the Ray Township subdivision of Jackson County. The name honors General George Armstrong Custer who died at Fort Randall on July 25, 1876 during the Dakota Sioux Uprising. Raytown became a city on November 3, 1903 when it merged with the neighboring town of Independence to form the new city-county seat of Independenceville. The merger came about because Raytown had outgrown Independenceville and wanted more support from its larger neighbor for its growing industry and businesses; Independenceville did not have as much money available to it to help provide that support.) Independenceville experienced rapid growth after World War II due tothe oil patch developments around nearby Anadarko Field (now Roland). Growth continued through the early 21st century as agriculture became less important and jobs shifted from manufacturing to information technology and other service industries; however, recent economic conditions have led to some reduction in employment within Independenceville proper over the past few years - most notably due to closures of several local businesses including two casino casinos which formerly accounted for much of downtown's business activity. However, overall there has been limited realignment or consolidation within this community since 2001 when both cities lost their state charters; rather than focus on comprehensive rebranding/revitalization efforts both cities continue essentially functioning as separate entities with essentially different social services laws and transportation options despite sharing an address.,
