In that year, the first coffee machine was introduced and the business became known as the Coffee House. The current owners of the Coffee House started brewing their own coffee in 1984.
Raytown is a small town located in St. Francois County, Missouri, United States. The population was 573 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield-Normal Metropolitan Statistical Area. Raytown was founded in 1836 and named for Captain John Ray of the U.S. Coast Guard. A post office was established here in 1838, and by 1840 had grown to include a store, blacksmith shop, and three dwellings. In 1847 the village had a school and a Methodist church; by 1860 there were also four stores, one hotel, two churches, and sixty-six residents. By 1870 Raytown had become an agricultural center with seven businesses: five farmers’ markets (five selling produce), one millinery business (owned by Mrs. Higginson), one saddlery business (owned by Mr. Waddell), one carriage factory (owned by Captains Murchison and Kapp), two livery stables (one owned by Captains Doherty and Mayhew). The pace of growth slowed throughout the 1890s as agriculture shifted to more mechanized methods; however, during World War I Raytown produced munitions for America's war effort; after the war raytown regained some of its lost prosperity through tourism which has continued until today In 1925 James Ethelbert "Jim" Doherty opened his first grocery store in Raytown which became an annual event until he closed it down due to economic problems in 1984 In 2006 Deanna Doherty reopened her old family operated grocery store called "The Old House" which now serves as a museum . It is open from 8am to 6pm on weekdays with some special events such as farmer's market days or holiday shopping

Raytown is a town in Missouri, United States. The population was 3,475 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Raytown, MO Micropolitan Statistical Area. The Raytown area was first settled by European Americans in the early 1800s and it became a town on March 1, 1871. The name comes from Archery Road which led to its settlement. The earliest settlers were Baptist missionaries who came to this region in the early 1800s seeking religious conversions of Native Americans. They named their community after Captain John Archery who they thought would be sympathetic to their cause because he had been detailed by General Andrew Jackson to lead an attack against the Osage Nation near this location in 1812. In 1827, local citizens voted to incorporate as a town and began selling land for development including what is now downtown Raytown. The first post office was established in Raytown on May 12, 1827 and served until it closed on July 15, 1870 due to lack of mail service being available at that time in that part of Missouri. The first settler with an individual name listed as contributing property was James Kapp who donated land for a schoolhouse and home on August 15th, 1830 which later became known as Kapp's Corner Market which still exists today within walking distance of downtown Raytown! In 1844-45 when St Louis City Limits were set up each side of the river present day I-435 between Randolph Rd & I-70 those limits included all or most of what is now known as Raytown including parts of what are now Elmwood Park & Independence Township! In response to this new situation several families moved into this area from Saint Louis County eastward over I-435 during that year bringing with them their barnyards and gardens along with any chickens or other poultry they might have acquired while there! This influx also helped spur various other agricultural expansion efforts throughout much of central Missouri during that period resulting in more acreage becoming developed here than anywhere else! Downtown Raystown experienced significant growth following World War II as many people commuting into St Louis decided they wanted something close by instead of having to drive far each day just for work! Manufacturing also took off here during this time making use both locally produced materials (such as aluminum cans) and outside manufacturers such as General Motors responsible for jobs right around town throughout much of the postwar period. Growth continued through the 1960s & 1970s with suburban developers moving into older sections surrounding downtownMercury Hills & Overland Park before finally dying out somewhat starting around 2000 when many people chose not to move away from city center due mainlyto recent economic challenges there combined with higher costs associated with living close to work
Raytown is a small town in Pike County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,872 at the 2010 census. The first settler in Raytown was Daniel French in 1829. The town was named for Capt. John Rays and his party who explored the area in 1837-38. In 1849, Colonel James Fenton purchased 640 acres of land from the Indian Chief Tecumseh and founded the town of Fenton on what is now part of Raytown. In 1861, General Sterling Price's army invaded Missouri to suppress slavery and freedom fighters such as Stonewall Jackson were killed or captured in what became known as the Battle of Sedalia Hill. As a result of this battle and others that followed throughout 1861-1865, Raytown emerged as one of the most important towns in Missouri due to its strategic location betweenprise forces and Union soldiers. During World War II Raytown served as an airfield during both World War I (1914-1918) and World War II (1939-1945). Today, Raytown is a small unincorporated community located within Pike County; it has no municipal government other than its own police department which provides law enforcement services for residents only
