Raymore, Missouri is a town in McLean County, Virginia that is home to the Raymore Coffee Company. The coffee company was founded in 1865 by Nicholas Raymore and his brother-in-law Nathan Bedford. The company has been in business for over 120 years and produces some of the world's best quality coffee. The Raymore Coffee Company is one of the oldest continuously operating coffee companies in the United States. It started out as a small grocery store on Main Street in downtown Raymore. In 1965, Nicholas Raymore donated land to create what would become the current headquarters of the company. The original building still stands today and serves as the primary headquarters for the company. The mainstay of the Raymore Coffee Company's production is espresso beans. However, they also produce other types of coffee such as AeroPress coffee cups and Turkish dark roast coffees. They also offer a variety of flavored syrups and canned goods such as cookies and milk products. In addition to their retail store and warehouse operations, they have a café located on North First Street within walking distance of manyRaymore residents. In 1916, The Coffee Roasters Corporation was founded and began exporting coffee to other parts of the United States. In 1928, The Coffee Shoppe & Cafe was opened and became a popular tourist destination for locals and visitors alike. In 1964, The Coffee Shop Incorporated was formed and continued selling coffee until it closed in 1992.

Raymore is a small town in southwestern Missouri, United States. The population was 2,521 at the 2010 census. It lies in Daviess County and is part of the Springfield, MO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in Raymore were farmers who arrived from Illinois in 1834. By 1860, the town had a post office, two stores and thirty-six residents. In 1868, Raymore became the county seat of Daviess County and its population grew to 1,459 by 1880. In 1907, Raymore Elementary School was built and it has been served by the school district since then. The current Principal of Raymore Elementary is Mrs. Donna Gorman with Assistant Principals Mr./Ms. Kathy Hutchins and Ms./Dr. Kimberly Reed providing instruction for grades K-2.). In Africa, where it was used for morning tea until the early days of colonialism, coffee was exported to Europe and North America during the 18th and 19th centuries. Japanese immigrants also introduced coffee to Hawaii during this time period (known as “the Golden Age”). The late 19th century saw a surge in interest in coffee thanks to new technological advancements such as photography and printing techniques that made it easier for people around the world to take pictures of their favorite beans roasted on their own presses or exposed on tableside. This period also saw many innovations within the brewing process including using smaller water volumes for less waste, developing more complex roast profiles (including dark roasts), and using lower-acid beans which helped preserve flavor over time. By 1830, French traders were also beginning to explore the trade routes between Asia and Europe and started bringing back a large quantity of Arabica beans. This led to the development of what is now considered to be the best-quality Arabica bean coffees from Africa.

The town of Raymore, Missouri was founded in 1819 by Major General John Brown and his wife, Esther. The area that is now Raymore was part of what is now Webster County. It first consisted of a few scattered homes and then grew to about fifty people. The early residents were farmers and their families who raised cattle, horses, pigs, and chickens. They also built a few small log cabin buildings. In the late 1800s, the area around Raymore became embroiled in a dispute with neighboring towns over access to water resources. This led to the construction of several dams in the area which caused serious flooding that destroyed many homes and businesses. In 1902, a new town named for General John Brown was established just east of Raymore on the Arkansas River. The name was commemorated by an event which took place at the oldRaymore Methodist Church where General Brown delivered his famous speech urging citizens to stand together against slavery during the American Civil War. During World War II, Raymore did not participate in any military campaigns but did provide food and shelter to soldiers stationed nearby.
