The first real coffee shop in Marshall was founded in 1897 by Elias Howe and his brother-in-law, John Dunlap. The Howell Coffee House served an early form of caffeine laced bread that was later called "old Fashioned Coffee" because it was made with ground beans roasted on site. In 1915, the Howe brothers opened a grocery store next door to their coffee house and began selling coffee direct to customers. In 1936, they moved to 8th Street and opened the first modern convenience store in the area, which remained open until 1979. In 1977, the original Howell Coffee House underwent a major renovation that included new flooring and partitions, as well as updated kitchen appliances. The restoration also included a exhibit about Marshall's coffee history that has been on display at the shop ever since.
Marshall is a small town in the Ozarks of Missouri, United States. The population was 5,564 at the 2010 census. It is the home of Marshall State University and the Marshall–Pope Airport. The town was named for General James K. Marshall, who fought in the Mexican-American War and in the American Civil War. In 1853, John Pope built a log cabin on what is now Pope's Hill in Marshall. In 1859, Reverend Wm Henson settled on Church Road east of present-day Marshall and founded a Methodist church there. In 1865, General Noah Webster visited Marshallsville while on his way to Gettysburg to observe military engagements there. He recommended that Missouri be admitted as a state into the Union with an amendment providing for congressional districts apportioned among slave states according to their populations then. On November 3, 1866, by popular vote (63% white men cast ballots), Missouri became a state; Marshall was one of its first towns incorporated within its boundaries. Marshall had two sawmills when it started out: one operated by Elisha Holmes and another by Alexander Smythson & Co.. A gristmill operated from 1870 until 1906; it destroyed by fire in 1922. A post office was established at Marshal in 1863; it closed operations in 1902. A frame courthouse also stood for about 20 years before being replaced by a more recent structure built in 2009 adjacent to MSAU's campus complex on Highway 59 just west of Ulysses S Grant Boulevard which serves as both school and business headquarters for all aspects of media production including television newsgathering services used by local stations throughout central MO., including channel 10 KCMO Fox affiliate) A fire destroyed most of downtown Marshallsville on October 15th 1904 although some structures were saved such as the old jail which still stands today next door to US 64 across from MSAU

By 1830, salted water or dry ice was being used instead of water for espresso production and soon Italians began calling their beloved java "espresso" which means "coffee." In 1895, Luigi Beccaria developed what is now considered the world's firstautomatic espresso machine while working at Banca d'Italia in Rome. The popularity of espresso continued to grow throughout World War I and into the 1920s when machines like Paul Reinhart's Rabelais were becoming available with variable strength brews called pour-overs (see also: corto). In 1933, Giovanni Anzalone patented an early automatic drip brewer called Fagotto which helped increase productivity at his biscuit factory near Naples. This led to the widespread use of drip brewers across Europe during World War II because most factories had trouble keeping up with demand for caffeine-rich war munitions! Afterword, automated drip brewers became less common until finally Being Driven To Drink replaced them completely around 1990! Today we enjoy fresh roasted coffee all year round thanks to technological advances!

It initially consisted of only a few houses and became an important transportation stop on the Mississippi River for goods transported downriver. The Marshalls also built a sawmill and grist mill in Marshall. The community remained active until the early 20th century when it declined rapidly due to factors including railroad construction, changes in agricultural production, and natural disasters such as floods. In recent years, some restoration projects have restored much of the historic infrastructure of Marshall including its downtown district and several buildings from the 19th century.
