Some Marines are deployed with their families to help support them while they are away from home, others serve in combat units or work as part of an infantry platoon. The Marines deployed in Liberty, Missouri were a part of the 1st Battalion, 7th Marines. The battalion was stationed at Camp Pendleton.
Liberty is a small town in central Missouri. It was founded by the Missouri Compromise of 1867, which defined the boundaries of the United States. The town had been mentioned as a potential site for the new capital of Missouri before it was chosen as Springfield. The original inhabitants were French traders and their families who arrived from Quebec in 1670. They built a trading post on the east side of the river in what is now Liberty. In 1803, when there were only 10 people living in Liberty, Simon Kenton donated land to make it a village. The first Postmaster General was John Atherton, who served from 1800-1804 and again from 1809-1815. In 1865, Confederate troops burned down part of Liberty while they retreating from nearby Fort Donelson. The attack resulted in several deaths and injuries among the local civilians, including John Atherton himself. For his actions during that raid, Atherton was awarded US gold medals known as "Kentons". The town was briefly taken over by Union forces during World War II but quickly returned to Confederate hands after they surrendered at Vicksburg. Afterward, Liberty experienced an influx of African Americans following the end of apartheid in South Africa and began to integrate into white society; this process continued until 1965 when all races were fully integrated into one community under one name: Liberty Village

Since then, Marines have been deployed to numerous conflicts around the world. Some of the most famous deployments include Operation Neptune's Spear in Afghanistan and Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Marine Corps also deploys troops to provide support to other nations through a variety of operations such as humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions. Liberty, Missouri is a town in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 3,957 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area and forms a portion of the MO-KS-TX Combined Statistical Area. The townsite that would become Liberty was laid out by David Swartwood in 1836 as a rural outpost on the east bank of the Verdigris River. He named it after James K. Polk, then President of the United States and one of its most ardent opponents in Congress during Reconstruction. Independence from slavery was an important factor in Swartwood's decision to name his town for liberty rather than democracy or justice; he believed that "peaceful progress towards Freedom" could be made without bodies politic committed to furthering these goals simultaneously. The first permanent white settler arrived in what is now Liberty around 1840: John Hinson, who bought land east of present day Independence Avenue from Chief Joseph Brantley and built a cabin there before moving westward across the river to take up more land near Mount Pleasant (now called Mount Vernon). In 1848 Isaac Asimov settled nearby on Asimov Creek and developed it into what is now east side of I-435 between US 24 and I-435 Business Loop; Asimov later donated much of his property to the township for development into central Liberty Township Park District which still maintains part or all of his original acreage within modern Libertytown Square Shopping Center vicinity today In 1853 David Swartwood moved his family from Independence to eastern Liberty Township where they erected their first house on what became known as Trinity Road (). For many years this house served as both their home and business office until it burned down in 1919 while they were away at a state fair; subsequent rebuilding began shortly thereafter with additions including a garage (1925) On November 4, 1860 Pershing County formed when parts were added to St. Louis County following Jefferson Davis' presidential election victory over Abraham Lincoln As early as 1865 local newspapers had been published on private lots near present day I-435 & Keystone Boulevard - becoming one site among many throughout northwest Missouri used by editors and reporters covering events leading up to World War II One such paper was The Republican (founded February 12th 1865), soon followed by other similar publications until late summer 1914 when The Daily Republican folded due largely to government censorship prohibiting any partisan political content even though ownership passed directly from father To Son organization founder Jens Rasmussen through son Lars Rasmussen
