The Kansas City Air Force Base (KCAFB) is home to the Missouri Air National Guard's 4th Wing, which includes the 413th Airlift Wing. The wing operates KC-135 Stratotankers and CH-47 Chinook helicopters. The 433rd Airlift Squadron is a unit of the KCAFB's 4th Wing that provideslift for various Specialty Operations Commands in support of U.S. military operations worldwide. These include providing airlift to members of the Iraqi Presidential Guard, operating as a global Reach Back Aviation Service provider for NATO, and conducting numerous humanitarian missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The squadron also provides aerial refueling services for Joint Force operating units in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait.
