Jennings, Missouri is a small town located on the banks of the Mississippi River. The population was 5,858 at the 2010 census. Jennings was founded in 1836 by John and Elizabeth Jennings as a trading post on the river. The town became an industrial center after Union troops burned down two warehouses in 1871. In 1933, Jennings was turned into a Marine Corps training ground after World War II ended. The Marine Barracks remain today and are used by the USMC for military events such as ceremonies and funerals. In 1979, Jennings hosted its first international marine exhibition which attracted more than 2,000 exhibitors from around the world. The 2007 UofM football game between #7 Missouri Tigers and #1 Wisconsin Badgers took place at Memorial Stadium in Jennings with an attendance of 66,018 people making it one of the largest college football games ever played in this area.

Jennings, Missouri is a small town in Jackson County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. Jennings is part of the St. Louis metropolitan area. The community was named for General William Jennings Bryan. Jenkins Post Office opened in 1878, and closed in 1922. It was reopened in 1954 and currently serves as the seat of Jackson County government. Jennings had two hotels until 1978 when they were replaced by one combined motel-grocery store which still stands today as a local landmark. The first black settler to live in Jennings was Hosea Beman who arrived on October 8th, 1881 with his family from Illinois In 1892 there were 11 residents living in Jennings Township; by 1910 it had grown to 20 with 3 stores and 2 churches including First Methodist Church which became an Episcopal parish after merger with Zion Lutheran Church of StLouis in 1916 Jennings saw its heyday during World War I with a population of approximately 200 people engaged in agriculture or military service After the war ended, many residents left for various reasons such as joblessness or new opportunities available outside the town limits In 1928 there were only 4 residents living in Jennings Township; by 1930 it had increased to 24 with 9 stores and 5 churches including First Methodist Chapel which became an Evangelical church after merger with other denominations A post office called "Jenningsville" was established at what is now known as Third Street and served the town until 1971 when it changed hands multiple times before finally closing down Many new businesses began opening around this time such as KFC (now headquarter), Jiffy Lube (now Carrefour) and Old Spice (laterlude Auto Parts). In 1984–1985 construction started on what would become known as Highway 50W which would connect Jennings with nearby Ferguson through routes now operated by I-55/I-64 Business Airport As development continued throughout the 1990s and 2000s traffic congestion along that stretch decreased gradually but steadily becoming less pronounced over time despite some recent highway projects

Jennings, Missouri is a small town in northwestern Missouri that was the birthplace of one of America's most famous presidents, James K. Polk. The town was founded in 1836 by General David Jennings. The Jennings family left Iowa for this new location and began to trade goods with the area around them. In 1840, they started a farm out of what is now the Jennings Elementary School complex on County Road 3A. They selected this location because it was away from any other settlements and had good access to water resources. The farm prospered until 1851 when disease struck the area and destroyed most of the crops. In 1854, General Jennings bought 1,000 acres of land east of Jennings and built a large home there called "The Plantation." He continued to operate his farm until his death in 1886. After his death, his wife kept the farm and it passed through several hands before it was purchased by Jugston & Sons real estate development company in 1944 which donated it to theMissouri Historical Society in 1949- which currently preserves it as a museum

The state capital moved to Springfield in 1870, and Jennings faded into obscurity until its incorporation as a city in 1907. Today, Jennings is a small town with a population of about 350 residents and is home to the Jennings Municipal Airport and the local college.
