The United States Air Force has a long history of deploying gift baskets to special occasions and military engagements. Through the years, the USAF has sent snacks, drinks, and other items to civilians and military members stationed in Hannibal, Missouri. In 1993, the USAF placed an order for 373 baskets filled with food and gifts for troops deployed in Bosnia. The basket recipients were officers and enlisted personnel from US Army Garrison Fort Riley. The gifts included cigarettes, candy bars, ice cream cones, batteries, water bottles, and more. Since then, the USAFhas shipped gifts to numerous deployments around the world. This year alone they will send a basket to Afghanistan in support of Operation Resolute Support. Additionally this year they’ve sent baskets to Spain as part of theirOperation Blessing campaign.

The United States Air Force deployment of the Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker in support of Operation Neptune's Spear was one of the most momentous air events in Hannibal, Missouri history. The Stratotanker flew into position over Baghdad on December 17, 2003 and delivered more than 350 pre-positioned munitions to coalition forces against Iraq's Saddam Hussein regime.
Hannibal, Missouri is a small town in Calhoun County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,853 at the 2010 census. Hannibal was founded in 1859 and named for General Hannibal Hamlin. Hannibal is a part of the St. Louis metropolitan area. The Hannibal Chamber of Commerce was chartered in 1893 and has been organized annually since then to promote local commerce and industry. The current building replaced an earlier structure which burned down in 1902. The chamber has three floors including meeting space on the second floor and offices on the third floor for its members as well asclient relations with other businesses in the county. Hannibal also hosts a number of events each year that are enjoyed by residents, visitors, schoolchildren and families alike. These events include carnivals,Summit Festival (a state fair), Father's Day Celebration - an annual parade that attracts more than 100 vehicles from throughout Calhoun County- Shaklee Classic Horse Races (a major horse race), Fourth of July fireworks displays along Interstate 40 outside of town and many more!

Hannibal was a town in Jackson County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,100 at the 2010 census. Hannibal is part of the Springfield-Springfield-Alton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1819 by Nicholas Titus and his brother John Titus. John Titus named it for Hannibal, Italy, where he had been born in 1798. It was laid out in 1827 by William Haggerty and enlarged by him and others in 1836. Hannibal became an incorporated village on December 3, 1840. In 1865, Hannibal was renamed for General Ulysses S. Grant because of their shared connection to the Union army during the American Civil War. After the war ended, Grant moved from Bentonville to Springfield and then to Carthage to become president of the United States; Hannibal remained an unincorporated community until January 1, 1870 when it became a part of Springfield Township under state law No. 9 of that year. In 1907,[1] Hannibal annexed parts of neighboring townships (including Alton) so as to become one city with a population over 10 thousand people.[2] According to the National Park Service's 2006 report on America's Unincorporated Towns,[3] "Hannibal" has lost its status as an unincorporated community but still maintains its own government and social infrastructure including schools and fire departments organized into districts
