The Grandview Air Force Base gift history is one of many that exist at the air base. The history of the gift to the community begins with a donation from Colonel James H. Sullen in 1959. Sullen was stationed at Grandview and donated his car to be used by the military as a giveaway for promotion and recruitment purposes. In 1984, General Electric donated an addition to the base which was known as "The Gizmo Place." This room housed a variety of electronics products for use by members of the military and civilian populations on the base. In 2001, United Airlines donated an airplane hangar to Grandview AFB which served as a storage area for planes used by the air force. As part of ceremonies marking 20 years since this donation, United Airlines presented a new Boeing 747-8 aircraft to Grandview AFB in 2008.
Grandview is a town in and the county seat of Platte County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,829 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. The first settler in what would become Grandview was Levi Beecham in 1838. He named his plat after his home state of Georgia. The first post office in Grandview was established in 1846. The first store was opened by Hosea Sheppard in 1854. In 1860, the town had a population of just ten people and two schools were operating single-room schoolhouses; however, by 1870 there were twenty-one residents with seven stores and six businesses; one sawmill and three homes were built that year alone. In 1872, George Washington Watkins donated land to Grandview for $5 per acre (the present site of State Route 56). Watkins also donated money to build a school on the site which would be known as Watkins Elementary School. On November 12, 1886, GrandVIEW became an incorporated town when it adopted a resolution declaring itself an " exemplar community" for other towns within its borders that followed similar policies regarding public education and fire protection; this action helped give birth to Village High School District No. 2 which currently operates all four schools within Grandview: Watkins Middle School (grades 7-12), Park View Intermediate School (grades 9-10), Central Avenue Junior High School (grades 11-12) & SouthFirst Senior High School (grades 13-16). On July 6, 1907 local voters approved annexation by Quapaw Township due to then recentBotanical Garden expansion into unincorporated Platte County bordering on Quapaw Township! This event marked not only the formal start of annexation but also initiated many years of growth for both towns as they quickly merged their services & resources together making it one thriving community! During this time much development took place such as new housing being built along SR 56 including Gateway Homes which still stands today ([email protected] ), as well as new businesses opening up such as KFC & Safeway along with several others throughout the years including Rotary Park Plaza Shopping Center - now known simply as Walmart - becoming anchored by JCPenney starting out small but quickly growling into a full blown supercenter later! An important milestone during this time period came on October 3rd 1992 when both towns held simultaneous voter's conventions setting forth plans for future merger/cooperation between both communities! This led ultimately to the establishment of VillageCouncilNo2 effective immediately following!! finally resolving what has been simmering for so long!!!

This event is also considered to be the inaugural air force gift basket deployment. Since then, different baskets have been send to different countries around the world. Grandview is a small town in Boone County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,545 at the 2010 census. It is part of the St. Louis metropolitan area. Grandview was founded in 1821 as a community on the east bank of the Missouri River opposite modern-day Ferguson. In 1865, it became the capital of Missouri after Springfield was burned by Confederate forces during the American Civil War. The city's first post office opened in 1824 and its first store in 1830. In 1876, grandview became associated with Abraham Lincoln when he delivered a speech from the steps of Grandview Presbyterian Church while his family resided there. Lincoln's wife Mary Todd Lincoln also visited Grandview that year. In 1902, Grandview celebrated its centennial with an event that included a picnic and parade through downtown streets packed with citizens from surrounding towns and villages. The city experienced other significant milestones over its history: On July 6, 1907, it was madeOkay for African Americans to vote through incorporation into city ordinances; on November 5, 1959 it became home to both Boeing Company (now Lockheed Martin) and Ford Motor Company's research center for advanced engineering work; and on January 31st 1973 Grandview received municipal water service from Lake Quincey following years of negotiations between government officials and private companies who offered to provide such services at lower prices than incumbent systems
Grandview was founded in 1836 as a farmstead on the eastern edge of the town of Pawnee. The first settler, John Bollinger, arrived in 1837 and built his house on the property that now includes Grandview Cemetery. In 1840, George Stephenson purchased land east of present-day Grandview and erected a millstream to power his sawmill. In 1865, granddaughters of early settler James Sibley persuaded their father to sell them additional land for $1,000. This allowed for construction of what is now Grandview Cemetery.
