The United States Navy Deployed Gift History in Florissant, Missouri can be traced back to 1892. The first gift given by the USN was a set of cannons to the town of Florissant, Missouri. In 1917, the USS Constitution ship docked at Florissant and presented a gift bag filled with cigars and cigarettes to the Mayor of Florissant. In 1948, Congress passed an act that allowed for gifts from foreign countries to be sent through mail. This new law allowed for US citizens in other countries to give gifts such as paintings, jewelry and automobiles. The USS Constitution again docked at Florissant in 1951 and this time presenters brought boxes of cigars, cigarettes and chocolates ashore. The USS Constitution served in many different capacities during her career including being deployed overseas four times total between 1951-1962. In 1969, she was decommissioned and placed into storage at Norfolk Naval Shipyard where she remained until 1975 when she was reactivated as part of the Vietnam War Era Veterans Memorial Museum Fleet showboat program. She returned home toFlorissant on July 20th 1977 after serving as flagship for ceremonies marking America's return to its military presence in Southeast Asia. Since her return home she has been used mainly for tourist purposes but on September 3rd 1991 she made history when she became the first USNS vessel ever moored at St Louis Harbor which is now berth #5 on Chicago Harbor near downtown Chicago! After years of preparation by both locals and federal government officials alike, it finally happened - USS Constitution Moored At St Louis Harbormaster's Pier!

The first county seat was in Florissant but by 1860 it had moved to Ferguson and then to Webster City due to growth within that county as well as lack of an adequate courthouse. On May 20, 1868, Florissant became a city with its own government and court system. According to the 2010 census, the racial makeup of Florissant was 93% White (of all races), 3% Black or African American, 0.1% Native American, 2% Asian Pacific Islander (of any race), and 1% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5%.

Florissant, who had fought in the Mexican-American War. It was incorporated as a town on November 5, 1886. Florissant is located at (36.560938,-93.927956). The first settler in Florissant was John Ames who arrived there on July 8, 1851 from Holland Township, Michigan with his family of six children and his mother and four sisters. They moved to what is now known as the eastern part of town which they called "Farmsville." John Ames erected a log cabin here on July 10th years after arriving in St Francois County A post office was established at Florissant on December 11th, 1852 by Prentis Capps with the name of "Holland". On February 14th, 1860 an act to incorporate a town was ratified by the voters of Florissant following the election of Aldermen Jno Wray and Simeon Burchfield On November 5th 1886 when Florissant became a town it had 1 male and 354 female residents In 1893 when corn prices went up farmers started moving into the area around Fentonville growing crops such as wheat and oats while raising horses for carriage service The introduction of electricity brought more people to Florissants with families coming over from Saint Louis or Kansas City because they could no longer use kerosene lamps
