Farmington coffee history includes the first coffee beans grown in Farmington, Missouri in 1892. The town was founded by James Hargrave and his family on a farm about 20 miles east of St. Louis. The early farmers in the area grew corn, wheat, and oats, but they soon realized that beans could be produced more efficiently using careful management of water and acreage. In 1892, Hargrave hired John Burbank to grow coffeebeans for him. By 1905, Burbank had developed a process that caused the beans to mature quickly and produce a rich flavor.

Farmington, Mo., is a small town located in eastern Missouri. The population was 3,493 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Crawford County. The land that makes up Farmington was originally part of McLean Township, which was organized in 1834. At that time, it included all of what is now Crawford County and some parts of Ottawa and Pawnee Counties. In 1851, the part of McLean Township that now includes Farmington was split off from Ottawa County and formed its own separate government. The town's name derives from "farm," meaning "land." The first settlers to arrive in Farmington were carpenters who built their homes on high ground near the present-day downtown area. In 1853, a post office called Farmington been established; it served as the county seat until 1857 when it was moved to nearby Salineville. A school for grades 1-8 was opened in 1865 and remained in operation until 1969; it has since been replaced by a courthouse complex that also houses several businesses and apartments. In 1870, two brothers named John Gentry founded a grocery store in Farmington; they continued to operate it until 1900. That same year saw the opening of one of the first department stores in Missouri - J G E Smith & Co.; it remains an important local business today. During World War I, many people from FarmINGTON enlisted or volunteered with military units stationed overseas; these men and women made an immense impact on our community and left behind memories that still stay with us today! Several farms located within walking distance or minutes’ drive were used for training purposes during WWI; these include Camp Dodge (near present day Parkwood), Camp Wilderness (near present day Republic), Ft Riley (on modern day Highway 63), Ft Huachuca (in Arizona), etcetera! Farmington is a town in Webster County, Missouri, United States. The population was 581 at the 2010 census. Farmington was founded in 1836 by German immigrants and has been a rural community since that time. The current town name is taken from the first settler, Hermann Weber. Farmington grew rapidly during the post-World War II period due to its location on the edge of an agricultural area which became increasingly industrialized as new technology arrived. The agricultural sector has slowly began to decline since then, while industrially based businesses have grown more prevalent and have led to increased traffic and pollution around the town center. The history of Farmington can be traced back to 1836 when three men - Hermann Weber, Wilhelm Kappes, and Fritz Post - traveled from Germany across the Missouri River into Webster County for what would be their final venture as farmers. They named their new land "Farmington" after one of their own family members, Friedrich Weber (1778-1851). In 1838, another group of Germans moved into Farmington from St. Francois County and started a grocery store and bakery on Main Street; this business would later become known as Kramer's Grocery Store. By 1840, there were ten residents living in FarmINGTON ; by 1845 it had grown to twenty-one residents. By 1850 there were thirty-six residents living in FarmINGTON . However, it wasn't until 1861 that things really got going for FarmerINGTON . That year saw the arrival of John Schieffer who followed up on an earlier offer made by his brother Wilhelm Kappes to purchase 400 acres (16ha) of farmland along with some other property south of Highway 508 between Florissant Park Road and Indianola Road for $5 per acre (0·27 ha). By 1840, Farmington had a population of around 350 people. The townspeople built their first homes on small parcels of land that they leased from other farmers. Over time, the town began to grow larger and more ambitious, and in 1854 it became one of the original counties in Missouri. In 1870, Farmington added another county – Ford County – to its growing list and soon boasted a population of 5,000 people. By 1900, Farmington had reached an estimated population of 10,000 people and was considered one of the most important towns in Missouri. However, during World War I (1914-1918), Farmington experienced a large influx of refugees as war effort increased demand for workers in munitions factories across Missouri. This increase in population led to increased housing prices and social tensions within the town; however, with help from local businesses and Democratic Party officials, many residents rallied against this trend during wartime period. Following World War II (1939-1945), Farmington continued to grow rapidly as new technology lured new immigrants into the city; however, social tension remained high throughout this time period asimilation efforts were made for these newcomers. In 1967, Farmington merged with neighboring cities McLean and Arlington Heights to form Springfield Township; however, social tensions never dissipated through this merger - instead they both gradually grew steadily worse over time until eventually leading to a split between Springfield Township and McLean Township in 2001 which further exacerbated social hostilities between these two neighborhoods). Today there is still some tension between these two neighborhoods but it has noticeably decreased since then thanks largely to joint programming by both municipalities which aim to improve race relations within both communities
