One of the most decorated air forces in the United States is the Missouri Air National Guard. The unit was activated on October 1, 1947 and has fought in numerous conflicts, both World War II and the Korean War. In Creve Coeur, they have played a significant role in history by deploying gifts to various military members and dignitaries throughout the area. The first gift was given to Colonel Harry J. Yeager on July 4th, 1949. Yeager became Commanding General of USAF Memphis Air National Guard District No. 3 on February 14th, 1951 and presented this gift to then Mayor John C. Maynard Jr.. The following year, they gave a gift to General James Van Fleet on November 10th as part of his retirement celebration from the U.S Army Air Forces after more than 40 years of service! On December 2nd, 1951, they gave a gift to Senator Tom Harkin along with other items for his home! This continued until Maynard's death in 1984. 3 years later on December 12th 1957 Governor Orville Faubus announced that he would be canceling all air shows scheduled for that day because of an upcoming hurricane! The Missouri Air National Guard flew over Ferguson with their A-6 Intruder aircraft providing support during Hurricane Auguste! This event is still considered one of the biggest moments in local history as it helped show how important aviation was during these times! After Hurricane Cindy struck Missouri on September 11th 2002, gifts were again sent to military members and dignitaries including President George W Bush which can be seen at White Sands Missile Range located near St Louis Mo!. In commemoration of its 50 years anniversary since activation date October 1st 1947 - December 12th 2007 - the Missouri Air National Guard Foundation donated a Boeing E-7A Dominator Aircraft system (UH-1Y Venom)to US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). This Aircraft arrived at Whiteman AFB Kansas City Mo., Dec 6 2007 And becomes operational Jan 28 2009 As USSOCOM Headquarters Aircraft!!!!
The United States Air Force is a branch of the military which has been in existence since 1941. The USAF was founded as the Aeronautical Division, Third Air Force, on February 1, 1941. The first deployments of the USAF occurred during World War II in support of the Allies. From 1945-1948, the USAF operated out of various bases around the world. In 1949, aerial refueling operations began and eventually became a part of combat operations. The USAF transitioned from piston engine aircraft to jet aircraft in 1956 and now operates more than 200 different types of aircraft. The deployment of air force gifts can be traced back to at least World War II when RAF Bomber Command made deliveries to American forces in support of Allied campaigns. Creve Coeur is a small town in the Ozarks of Missouri, United States. The population was 1,829 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield-St. Louis Metropolitan Statistical Area. Creve Coeur is located on US 40 just east of I-435, about 15 miles (24 km) northeast ofKansas City and 50 miles (80 km) southwest of St. Louis. The first people to settle in this area were the Kansa Indians who lived around what is now CreveCoeur before European exploration began in 1764 by Captain James Cook with his expedition under Rear Admiral Nicholas Van Diemen discoveredLivingstone's River and mapped much of present day Missouri and Kansas
The United States Air Force has been deploying air force gifts for over a century. The first time the USAF deployed an aircraft was in 1917 when it sent a Boeing 707 to deliver supplies to Russia during World War I. From then on, the USAF deployments have ranged from small planes such as the USAAF Model 1918 Piper Cub to bombers like the Boeing 747 and Lockheed L-1011 Constellation. As the USAF grows larger and more complex, it has needed to send gift helicopters too. These helicopters are usually used for aerial refueling or conducting surveillance missions, making them perfect presents for any USAF officer or enlisted member who may need help on their commute home or while on duty. Some of the more famous air force gifts include The Black Hawk Helicopter and The MH-60P Seahawk helicopter both delivered in 2002. The Black Hawk is a modified Douglas DC-3 that was originally designed as an agricultural helicopter, but has been converted into an all-weather transport helicopter capable of carrying up to twelve troops and fifty kilograms of cargo. The Seahawk is a Bell AH-1Z Viper Attack helicopter that was originally built for Search and Rescue operations, but is now being used by the USAF as a medium lift helicopter capable of carrying up to seventy five kilograms of payloads across various missions including search and rescue, medical evacuations, law enforcement duties, and scientific research.

Creve Coeur is a small town in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,492 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield-Cape Girardeau Metropolitan Statistical Area. Creve Coeur is one of the few communities in Missouri to have an Agricultural Experiment Station on their property, founded by General George Sully in 1881. The station operated until 1941. As a result of its agricultural importance, Creve Coeur has been home to several important people in local and national history: Senator James K. Polk (1846-1924), inventor Philo Farnsworth (1896-1976), as well as General George Sully (1881-1945). In addition, the town has been host to various concerts and other events over the years including the Miss America Pageant and the Midwestern Regional Fairgrounds Speedway."
In 1831, a group of investors led by Andrew Jackson bought the land that would become Creve Coeur. The town was founded in 1837 and named for Colonel Richard Creve Coeur, an early settler. It grew rapidly and by 1845 had a population of over 1,000. In 1860, the town was moved to its present location on the Missouri River.
