The history of coffee in Crestwood, Missouri can be traced back to the 1850s. In that year, a group of Dutch settlers founded the town of Crestwood on the banks of the Arkansas River. The town was named after a wooded mountain in Holland which they thought looked like a perfect site for their new community. Crestwood quickly became an important center for coffee production. By 1860, it was one of the largest coffee-producing towns in Missouri. The town's two main processing centers were located near the river and its numerous waterfalls. The process of roasting coffee began at these locations and continued until about 1885. The first commercial Roastery in Crestwood was established by Joris Backer and his nephew Hendrik Cornelisz in 1857. At that time, Coffee Roasters was still a relatively new term and most people in Crestwood didn't even know what it meant. However, soon enough, Coffee Roasters became something very local and significant within our city's cultural fabric. In 1865, John Hinton opened his own small store in Crestwood which became known as The Hinton House Coffee House. That same year saw the first real attempt to export coffee to other countries thanks to Julius Caesar Handelsgruppe (JCHG). JCHG imported some 6000 pounds of Brazilian beans from Brazil and roasted them at their warehouse on Main Street in Crestwood before shipping them off to Germany under sailboat containers! This early effort shows just how important caffeine was within those days - today we would call it "caffeine culture." In 1868, while working at JCHG, Friedrich Wilhelm Kollmeyer discovered what would become known as Arabica coffees – this is when he decided to start marketing these beans nationally instead of just locally! From there on out things started really growing for Coffee Roasters - starting with national advertising campaigns and eventually becoming one of America's leading importers/exporters! Over time we've managed to keep up with changing technology and continue developing our own unique roast techniques – all without sacrificing our quality or identity!

Although most of the town was destroyed by fire in 1865-1866, it rebuilt quickly and reached its current size by 1870. The growth of Crestwood continued until World War II when it declined significantly due to changes in American society and the war itself. However, since then new businesses have arrived and the community has experienced recent growth thanks to its location within easy reach of major metropolitan areas such as St Louis and Kansas City. Today, Crestwood is an important cultural hub for the area and offers excellent opportunities for social interaction among its residents.

During the American Civil War, Crestwood was one of the few towns in Missouri that avoided battle. In 1865, Crestwood became a state capital following Missouri's admission into the Union as a state. In 1870-72, Crestwood saw an influx of new settlers from Illinois due to heavy crop production there. This led to increased development in town and increased income for locals; however, it also led to social unrestrained by organized government control or regulation. After Reconstruction ended in 1877 with end of slavery in America (which followed Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation), Crestwood experienced some growth as white supremacists moved into its ranks during this time period seeking revenge against black Americans who they felt had taken away their jobs and properties during Reconstruction years past. However these groups generally disbanded within a few years once they realized they could not take advantage of white society without first becoming accepted within it themselves
