Clayton, Missouri is a small town located in the Ozarks of southern Missouri. It was founded in 1833 as a small community named Glasford. The first blacksmith in Clayton was named John A. Dixon and his shop opened in 1867. The town's most famous landmark is the Clayton Post Office which was built in 1913 and is currently used as a museum. In 1938, Clayton became the site of one of the largest coffee production operations in the United States when its founders purchased an acreage near Rolla, Missouri to produce coffee for American soldiers during World War II. The operation continued until it closed its doors in 1957 due to economic competition from other coffee companies operating in nearby towns. Today, some of the original equipment from the earlier production operation still remains at Clayton Post Office, helping to preserve this important part of history.

In 1870, a man named John Clayton came to Missouri from Illinois with his family. He started a small coffee business in what is now the city of Clayton. In the early days, coffee was sold only at farmers' markets. Coffee beans were ground up and brewed fresh. The first coffee roasters in Missouri were Master Roasteries, run by men who roasted and bottled their own coffee. These Master Roasteries are still in operation today.
Clayton, Missouri is a city in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the St. Louis–Saint Peters metropolitan area. The first settlement in Clayton was made on the bluffs above the present site of Clayton in 1827 by fur traders Simon and Pierre Lacrosse and their families. A post office called "Lacrosseville" was established in 1830, and remained in operation until 1876. In 1836, General James K. Polk appointed John Fenton as Ulysses S. Grant's campaign manager while he was being nominated for president at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia; Fenton resides today in Clayton with his wife Julia and four children from two previous marriages (one to an American Indian squaw named Pocahontas). In 1837, when Kansas became a state and all of Missouri within its borders became a territory subject to federal rule, Clayton formed itself into a town under the name of "Kansas City." The first store opened there on November 16, 1840 by JESSE LAMBONN & SONS; it continued to be operated until 1850 by WILLIAM CLAYTON JR., WILBUR CLAYTON II., JOHN HENRY ALLEN & CO.; it closed because of lack of customers during that time frame In 1865, William Clayton Sr.'s son-in-law Hugh Blair bought out his father's interest in Globe Land Company which had been organized into what is now Globe Broadcasting Corporation; Hugh Blair served as President from 1922-1939 He also played an important role in developing Stations KMOX (now KMOV) 102 FM station licensed to Clayton which began operations on February 8th 1951 KMOX greatly helped develop downtown Clayton into one of the most thriving communities outside Greater St Louis Area He also donated land where First Baptist Church now stands on North Main Street near current Interstate 70

This variety of coffee quickly gained popularity in Europe and was eventually sold around the world. In 1978, Indonesian manufacturer PT. Triton bought control over Dutch company Philips van der Kolk's coffee business. t ribbon-like waves from this acquisition signaled a shift in Indonesia's economy away from agriculture toward its burgeoning electronics industry. As Java lost its importance as an agricultural center, so too did its share of production for large international companies such as Nestle and Keurig (now Partenope). With more jobs available outside traditional farming areas, prices for premium Kopi Gila began dropping precipitously-a trend that continued through much of the 1990s and 2000s

Clayton, Missouri is a town in St. Francois County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,828 at the 2010 census. Clayton was founded in 1832 by Captain John Sisson and his family after they left Nauvoo, Illinois. It was named for General James Wilkinson who fought in the Mexican-American War and became a U.S. Senator from Arkansas before moving to Saint Francois County in 1824 as an agent of the Cincinnati Land Company. The first school was built in 1834 and the first store opened in 1840. By 1850 Clayton had a post office, three churches, fifty-six residents and one physician. In 1865 it became part of what is now Kansas City metropolitan area when that state was formed from Saint Louis County and parts of Johnson County. In 1898 Clayton voters approved annexation intoKansas City metropolitan area; this resulted in its current name of Kansas City–Clayton Township (though it still retains its original Springfield mailing address). In 1916 both towns merged to form one municipality with their own police department and fire Department; however, due to ethnic diversity within the new municipality there continue to be separate Police Department services for Clayton and Kansas City-Clayton Township citizens until present day. The first tornado touched down on Claytontown Road on May 25th 1886 causing damage to two homes; however no injuries were reported as a result of the attack which remains one of the most infamous tornadoes in Missouri history
