The Chesterfield Army Depot was first established in 1881 as the Chesterfield Arsenal. The depot served as an artillery ammunition and munitions storage facility until it closed in 1954. In 1967, the depot reopened as the Chesterfield Army Depot Military Base. It served as a military base until it closed in 1988. In 1992, the Chesterfield Army Depot reopened as the Chesterfield Army Depot Store District. The store district serves as the main sales center for all military-related items at the depot. It also provides marketing and promotional services to other businesses located within walking distance of the depot. The history of army deployed gift history began with World War I when General John J Pershing ordered that all supplies needed for war be brought from cents to dollars. This order created a demand for soldier gifts that would continue into World War II because soldiers were required to bring back large quantities of food, clothing, and more than just weapons and ammo. Chesterfield is a town in Chesterfield County, Missouri, United States. The population was 3,827 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Chesterfield County. The first settlers in what is now Chesterfield were white men from Kentucky who came to the area during the time when it was part of Kansas Territory. They named their townships after relatives or friends who had died in the Civil War. The first post office in what is now Chesterfield was established on November 1, 1868, and served only as a drop-off point for mail arriving at Independence (Kansas). A new post office was established in Chesterfield on May 8, 1870, and became the county seat on December 12 of that year. The railroad reached Chesterfield by way of Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Station on June 14, 1875. The town began to boom as businesses sprang up around the train station to provide goods and services for travelers coming into and leaving this newly opened community. By 1888 there were over twenty businesses in town with a total payroll of $15,000. In 1899 work started on building an express railway from St Louis to Chicago through Chesterfield Junction which would have cut travel time between these two cities by almost half. However this project never saw fruition due to financial problems; however it did bring traffic much closer together than it ever had before! The primary industry today still associated with Chesterfield are agriculture and manufacturing; however some recent changes include several high-rise apartment buildings being built near downtown which offer residents excellent views of Interstate 44 passing by!

RAF Bomber Command also gifted aircraft such as Lancaster bombers and Halifaxes as Christmas presents in 1941. Since 1945, however, there has been a trend towards more practical gifts for soldiers including computer games or sunglasses for morning flights. Chesterfield is a city in Chester County, Missouri, United States. The population was 27,390 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Chesterfield County. The first permanent settler in what is now Chesterfield was John Sibley, who arrived with his family in 1800 from Maine. He named his farm "Sibley's Grove". In 1821, Sibley and his wife Anna built a cabin on the site of what is now the downtown core of Chesterfield. They also planted a small grove of oak trees on their property which still stands today. In 1825, two brothers by the name of Richardson settled in this area and named their farm "Richardson's Run". They farmed until about 1840 when they moved to Hyattsville, Maryland where they continued farming until their death in 1849. Their son Isaac inherited the farm and it continued to be run by descendants until it was sold to Harry Wills in 1906. Wills renamed it "Willsburg." In 1839, James Kapp started an agricultural business here that became one of the largest in Missouri. Kapp operated it for many years before selling it to George Murtaugh in 1907. Murtaugh continued operation as Kapp’s Grain Elevator until he merged with Armour Meat Packers Corporation to form McDonnell-Douglas Corporation in 1982; however, Kapp’s store remains open as an exhibit within McDonnell-Douglas Corporate Headquarters today (invisible from most areas). A post office called Chesterfield was established at this location on December 1st, 1830., and remained operational until January 3rd 1870 due to lack of mail volume between Chesterfield and Harrisonburg despite being only 12 miles apart!
Chesterfield was founded in 1824 by a group of men led by Captain John Chester. The town was named after the Chesterfield Plantation, which was located near present-day Chesterfield. The first post office in Chesterfield opened in 1827. By 1830, the population of the town had grown to about 1860 people. In 1836, the United States Congress passed a bill creating the Illinois Central Railroad, and Chesterfield became one of its stations. In 1838, General James Shields built a house on Main Street as part of his efforts to develop what would become downtown Chesterfield. By 1840, most of downtown had been constructed and renamed Shieldsville after General Shields. In 1847-48, George Waggoner moved his grocery store from Rock Island to Chesterville and started selling goods that he shipped in wagons from Iowa City. He soon developed an extensive trade with eastern Missouri and Kansas City for goods destined for different parts of the country. In 1865, when Union forces captured nearby Corinth during the Civil War, they burned down Waggoner's grocery store but left intact his large stock of supplies for local soldiers at Fort Donelson. Two years later, when Confederate forces recaptured Corinth, they destroyed Waggoner's store as part as punishment for their support of the Confederacy. By 1870, most businesses in downtown were closedtered or gone; however, some stores such as Bicknell & Hargrave still operated until around 1930s). However new development began to take hold within blocks of downtown starting around 1900 with churches (First Presbyterian Church being built in 1905), theaters (the Samuel Goldwyn Theater being built in 1909), schools (Grace Episcopal School being built in 1911), and nightclubs (The Spotlight Club being built in 1916). Downtown business districts continued to grow through World Wars I and II while other areas within reach lost much commercial activity due to suburban growth or migration. After WWII many restaurants closed down due to lack of competition or changing tastes; however some such as Roy's Place reopened throughout the 1950s with resurrected memories of old times before it became another fast food restaurant typical today with chain influence
