The first coast guard gift was given in 1868. The Coast Guard Auxiliary was founded on October 1, 1868, by Lieutenant General John C. Frémont and Captain George Armstrong. The Coast Guard Auxiliary became the Coast Guard when it was organized as a separate service on July 1, 1916. On December 12, 1920, the Auxiliary received its present name- the National Coast Guard Association- which it still retains to this day. On January 1, 1942, the U.S. War Department activated the Coast Guard Reserve to provide military assistance to coastal communities during World War II. This increased the number of gifts that were given to our local coast guard organizations and made them even more special and unique than ever before! 2) On November 8th of every year (or less if there is no anniversary), members of the National Coast Guard Association gather together at our Bridgeton Headquarters for a Holiday party with all sorts of goodies from around town! Bridgeton is a small town in northwest Missouri, United States. The population was 5,847 at the 2010 census. It is part of the St. Louis metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1836 by Captain Isaac Braddock and his family on the east side of theMissouri River. In 1839, Captain John Brown and his brothers founded the town on land purchased from French Canadian settlers who had arrived in that area during the 1830s. The first post office was established in 1841. From 1840 to 1860, Bridgeton was called "Butterfly." In 1865, Captain John Aiken organized a detachment of Confederate soldiers to help suppress a pro-Union uprising in nearby Carbondale. On April 14 (or 15), 1865, General Ulysses S. Grant's army arrived at Branford Landing and advanced northward towards Carbondale through what is now Bridgeton; this event is generally considered to be the beginning of World War II in Missouri. Captain Isaac Braddock's grandson, Captains George Washington Braddock IV and Nathaniel Nichols became respectively first Postmasters at BRADFORD LANDING (now Little Rock) on November 12th 1861 and December 3rd 1861 under Acting Governor Alfred Drake - all three men being natives of BRADDOCK COUNTY whichaccounted for about one-third of present day BRADFORD LANDING population (when last census taken). George Washington's father had been born near MOOREFIELD on October 26th 1775 & died there August 10th 1862 aged 74 years old leaving two children: GWINNEY HENRY JR., born May 6th 1779 & daughtrinethat name February 24th 1849 also attended school here; NATHANIEL NICHOLSBorn September 2nd 1800 & Died March 8th 1863 age 36 years old reared here with his sister GARLANDIA HANNAH Nov 25 th 1800 until her death January 9 th 1862 married to SARAH JANE WILSON Sept 2 nd 1817 daughter Of WILLIAM RANDOLPH WILSON Sr.; they resided here till their Removal to St Louis Mo July 1 st 1870 when they made it their permanent home
The Coast Guard has been providing service to the American people for over a century. It is one of the first and most important organizations in America’s security system. The Coast Guard was founded on December 12, 1915 by President Woodrow Wilson. The Coast Guard today provides maritime safety, coastal defense, search and rescue, and public safety services. The Coast Guard gift history can be traced back to its inception. One of the first gifts given to the Coast Guard was a set of binoculars from Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt. The Coastal Security Act of 2002 established the National Academy for Search and Rescue Technology as part of the National Academies Library System in order to provide research on coastal security issues. In 2005, Congress authorized $1 million for a new ship specifically designed to respond quickly to disasters at sea. This ship became known as “ USCGC Polar Star” after being dedicated at Portsmouth Navy Yard on October 9th, 2006. In 2009, Congress passed legislation authorizing $5 million for state law enforcement agencies that are attached or cooperating with the Coast Guard through mutual aid agreements or cooperative programmes such as Stand By Our Ship Program (SBSP). These funds will be used to purchase additional police vessels and gear including helicopters and boats used by state law enforcement officers in cooperation with the Coast Guard when responding to emergencies or crimes aboard vessels operated by other commercial entities afloat or ashore across U.S boundaries

Bridgeton, Missouri is a small town in the Ozarks of central Missouri that was founded in 1836. The town was named after British politician and explorer Captain James Bridgeton. The first settler in Bridgeton was John Hinds, who arrived in 1837. Hinds built a log cabin on the site of present day Bridgiton and started farming. By 1840, several more settlers had moved to Bridgiton from nearby towns including Newton and Rolla. In 1845, three men from Illinois traveled through the area and visited Bridgiton for about two weeks. They reported that they found "a very good place for a settlement" and returned to their state the same day with plans to build a wagon road from Springfield, Illinois to Kansas City, Missouri. In 1846, another group of Illinoismen settled in Bridgiton and began trading goods with local farmers. This group became known as the "Old Settlers." By 1850, there were about thirty people living in Bridgiton. That year, an Act of Congress authorized the erection of a courthouse at Cahokia Heights within five miles of Bridgeton. On October 11th, 1850, Judge Elijah Mosely erected the first building on what is now Main Street in Bridgiton while presiding over proceedings at Cahokia Heights Courthouse which also served as post office until 1865 when it closed due to lack of mail service between Ridgway County and Cahokia Heights In 1861-1862 two companies of Confederate soldiers were stationed at Brigantine Barracks (now BridgetON Community College) northeast of town while General Sterling Price's army marched through central Missouri towards St Louis along the Mississippi Riverfront 都市時代的博物館
