The Belton Air Force Base is one of the largest in Missouri and it has a rich air force history. The base was founded on December 17, 1941 by General George S. Patton, who served as the Commander of American Expeditionary Forces in World War II. The base became an Air Force Base on October 1, 1947 and was renamed to Belton Air Force Base on October 3, 1951. The base saw combat during World War II and the Korean War. It played a pivotal role in America’s victory in those wars and continues to serve as one of the nation’s most important military installations today. Belton AFB is home to over 120 aircraft carriers, including eight that can accommodate jet fighters and bombers. It also features a large ground forces command center with more than 30 barracks buildings housing up to 4,000 military personnel. In addition to its air force capabilities, Belton AFB also houses twoMajor League Baseball stadiums – Busch Stadium (capacity: 42,500) and Turner Field (capacity: 54,600). The airport provides access to over 100 miles of runway for both civilian use and military flights. The history of gift giving at Belton AFB begins with the founding of the base itself in 1941 when General George S Patton decided that an air force station would be established in central Missouri so that American Expeditionary Forces could be deployed easily across the country should war arise again overseas. To commemorate this event, General Patton donated land on which the current Belton AFB stands - making him one of only two Americans ever honored with such distinction during World War II! From then until 1951 when it became an Air Force Base under control ofthe USAF nothing was too much for General Patton or his team at Belton! He went out of his way to make donations not just money but items like cars and equipment used by Allied fighter pilots training at RAF Atcham Airport near London while they were preparing for their next mission! Gifts ranged from small things like some radios for enlisted men living on site or tools needed for weapons manufacturing to larger items such as hangar space or even entire airstrips! This dedication to giving back helped keep morale high among everyone working at Belton AFB - something you can still see today throughout all aspects of life here! Belton, Missouri is a small town in the Ozarks region of central Missouri. The population was 1,829 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Belton-Easley,MO Micropolitan Statistical Area. Belton began as a post office in 1819 and has been located at its current location since 1839. The first store in Belton was built by Elijah Woods and John Baucum on what is now State Route K north of town. A blacksmith shop followed in 1865 and a flour mill opened in 1886. In 1907, a general store and postoffice were combined into one building and named Belton Post Office Square following an act of Congress on June 8, 1907. In 1965, the name was changed to honor Major General John PemberTON who fought during World War I at Belleau Wood. The community experienced significant growth after being selected for inclusion in the Ozark Hills Council for Economic Development (OZHCD) area program in 1984. The program encourages economic development within central Missouri's rural areas by providing resources such as grants and loans to promote high-tech businesses that can create jobs throughout the region. OZHCD became active in support of BELTON through their programs until recently when they merged with other councils across missouri to form the MISSOURI FIRSTCouncil which will continue to serve BELTON uniquely

Belton is a town in St. Francois County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,543 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. Belton was founded in 1827 by Captain John Belton and his family as a small farming community named for their home town of Bentonville, Arkansas. In 1857, the town changed its name to Belton after General Nathaniel P. Belton who had been thrust into power following the Mexican-American War as President of Mexico and then served as Commandant general of all U.S.-Mexico forces on American soil. After General Belton's death in 1861, his widow donated land to the community for local residents to use and developed it as a small agricultural center with a school and store. The first post office was established in 1858 and remained open until it closed in 1902 due to lack of customers; however, the earliest settlers did not realize this because they used what was available at that time." The economy of BelTON has always been based on agriculture with some light manufacturing such as flour milling done nearby including Bement Machine Company which still exists today making BELTON one of the few towns in America still using hand-powered flour mills! In addition, many other businesses have sprung up over time like: Agritech Masonic Lodge #1 (now defunct), Bealls Hardware & Feed Store #2 (now demolished), Schaum's Greetings Bakery (& later KFC) opened up in 1966 (and remains open today!), Just For Laughs Casino opened up just east of town back when that was called "the place where everything started" back before it closed down...the list goes on!
