There is no question that firearms have been a part of the Arnold community for more than 100 years. In 1892, local gunsmiths donated six rifles to the city’s first police department. The guns were used as auxiliary weapons and training tools until 1919, when the department acquired its own firearms. The first handgun purchase in Arnold happened in 1922 when Mrs. A.F. Brownell bought a Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolver from J&R Arms Co., Ltd., a business located on County Road 3-W near present-day Douglas Park. The pistol was used by Mr. Brownell as his personal weapon until his death in 1984. Arnold residents have always enjoyed bearing arms, whether they were purchasing handguns or rifles for their households or militia units stationed throughout the area during World War II and postwar eras (e.g., the National Guard). In 1964, citizens of Arnold organized themselves into an “unofficial” Citizens’ Committee to Purchase Firearms for Their Community which became known as the Pistol Club after its first meeting in October of that year . This group continued to purchase firearms through purchases and donations from individuals and businesses until it disbanded in 1978 due to lack of interest following the assassinations of two prominent members of local politics - Mayor Donnie McNamara and State Senator John McClendon - both with handguns . In 1984, local resident Alain Beaulieu purchased an eight-shot Glock 19 handgun from NRA member Bob Killeen at an auction held at Fenton Manor Place in Overland Park, Kansas City Missouri . Killeen had previously owned two pistols which he had given away to various charities including Second Amendment Foundation events held at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City Heights on several occasions between 1978 – 1982 . While there are many different types and calibers of handguns available for purchase online today, it is generally difficult to find examples (or even examples still extant) periodally offered at public auctions like this one where firearm restoration/repair projects are involved such as those currently being undertaken by Bob Killeen with his newly purchased Glock 19 pistols . Arnold, Missouri is a small town in central Missouri, United States. It is part of the Jackson County metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, the population was 538. Arnold was named for General James K. Polk and his wife, Laura Bush Polk. The hamlet began as a small farming community in 1868 and grew rapidly during the late 19th century as a result of Andrew Carnegie's railroad construction in that area; many of the original residents from those days are still living in Arnold today. The tiny village became one of the most significant agricultural towns in Jackson County when it was incorporated as a municipality on November 3, 1903. That year, its population numbered just 12 people; but within two years it had grown to about 100 people and by 1907 had reached 300 residents. The growth continued until World War II: by 1945 Arnold had reached 1,500 residents and remained high enough throughout that conflict to be included among Jackson County's " Municipalities thro' Which Property Was Waged In Service To Our Country" (Municipality list no longer available online). In 1949, Arnold voters passed an ordinance establishing what is now known as the "Arnold Festival". Held annually during August or September - at which time much of the town's cultural heritage is displayed - it has been considered one ofMissouri's most important events dating back to its early days. Today, Arnold remains an agricultural center with some modest commercial activity; however, its legacy continues to be felt throughout much of rural Jackson County

Arnold is a town in Johnson County, Missouri, United States. The population was 527 at the 2010 census. Arnold was platted in 1859, and named after General David E. Arnold who fought in the American Civil War. The community developed around a post office, which opened in 1861. At the time of its founding, Arnold had a population of only 10 residents. The first settler to arrive in Arnold was John Fenton, who came from New York in 1837. In 1865, Ebenezer Chilton founded a gristmill on the river near present-day downtown Arnold. This mill provided local bread for local citizens and also exported flour to other states. The town’s growth accelerated during the late 1860s when entrepreneurs built several stores and hotels along Main Street and central square. By 1870, Arnold boasted three churches (the first being erected by Reverend James Shields), four schools (one of which was high school), two stores/merchants (Fenton’s Store and Wagon Wheel Store respectively), three residences including one large brick house designed by Jno Aiken that still stands today as a museum within walking distance of downtown Arnold, an hotel/motel on Second Street between Broadway and Park Avenue that became known as “The White House Inn” due to its white marble facade and beautiful green shutters indicative of English country living back then; two blacksmith shops; two farms; twelve head of cattle; ten horse teams; six wagons; five barrels per day for brewing purposes - all this before there were even any roads or rails! In 1879 president Ulysses S Grant issued an executive order authorizing the construction of what would become Route 66 through Johnson County – one of history’s earliest public transportation initiatives anywhere outside Kansas City – leading directly to today’s city limits just north east of present-day town center where Route 66 meets I-435 highway eastbound at exit 244 south – so much for rustling up pioneer roots like earlier settlers did! And yet some 20 years later that same year saw another big development with incorporation coming about for what would become businesses like Checkers restaurant/laundromat on Third Street west of Main Street while also bringing new life into what had been once called “the little village» with many people moving out join their families back home since they could now get jobs too not just farm their land! All told it must have seemed like nothing ever changed here other than the changing times ebb & flow without much impact or lasting legacy... until you happened upon Google Earth looking at aerial photos taken about 25 years ago depicting what current day Downtown Arnold looks like… wowzers!! If you haven’t noticed already but over time things have kindaedin geared down around here especially since MONDAY NIGHT MARKETINGS ARE NOW ALL OUT OF BUSINESS LOL sorry about that but….. actually we used to do quite well prior to those shenanigans going on 😂 Anyway back onto topic…… In 2013 Mayor Jerry Morton announced plans for renovation / rebuild aspects Of downtown streetscape starting withMain St which has seen more than $1 million worthof reconstruction work done over last few years sponsored by various private entities including KFC bank etc…. lotsa change y'all will see!!!!!
