The history of coffee in Arnold, Missouri goes back to at least 1894. One of the first documented espresso machines was constructed here by Luigi Pastore and his son Angelo. The machine became known as the " Arnold Coffee Machine." From there, it wasn't long before people in Arnold started importing quality coffee beans from all over the world. By 1937, Arnold had its own roasting facility which produced some of the most delicious coffee in the area. Today, Arnold is home to one of the largest and most respected roasting facilities west of Kansas City. It became a city in 1907. Arnold is located at (38.660947, -94.547902). According to the 2010 census, it has a total area of , all land. As of the census of 2000, there were 2,030 people, 703 households, and 537 families residing in the town. The population density was 918.0 people per square mile (354.4/km²). There were 888 housing units at an average density of 419.7 per square mile (175.3/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98% White, 0% African American, 0% Native American, and 1% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2% of the population

One of the early pioneers of Arab cuisine was Sayyid Qutb Ibn al-Hasan who introduced couscous into Arabian cuisine with his recipe for Za’atar (a type of lentil soup). Arnold is a town in Rice County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,872 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1836 and named after Arnold Schwarzenegger, then an Austrian general who fought in the Mexican–American War. The town was founded by German immigrants on a tract of land granted to them by the Missouri General Assembly in 1836. The first post office was established in Arnold on May 3, 1837. In 1840, the first school was built and the first teacher was Mrs. Sarah Hardesty. In 1845, Arnold became part of Rice County when it was organized from portions of Webster and Platte Counties. The county courthouse and jail were moved to Arnold from Webster during that year. In 1849, William Hatton donated land for a Methodist church which would be built on what is now Main Street near where he lived for many years before his death in 1907. In 1865-1866, three steamboats called "Pioneer" landed at anchor at various locations around town because no landing place could be found within city limits due to channel erosion caused by heavy rains upstream (see below). This event helped start the end of summer tourist season which continues to this day! A post office called Arnold had been established as early as October 25, 1850SF but it never received any mail because there wasn't anyone living there! On November 5th 1850SF an act entitled "An Act To provide for Postoffices And Chancery Districts Within The Township Of Armstrong" passed by the Missouri General Assembly provided that all new townships created west of St Louis should have their own post office (it had been only two weeks since Rice County had been organized!). So soon after this new law passed Archerton got its first letter! After being opened on December 11th 1850SF by Smith & Stevenson # 829R (the original Postmaster), Mrs Jane Stephenson added her name to list next door! Archerton's first postmistress always seems to have been one Miss Pugh who served until her retirement on July 1st 1922! On January 6th 1861 another act entitled "An Act To establish A Court House And For Other Purposes" passed by the same body provided for courtroom located east of Center Street between First and Second Streets which would seat twenty nine persons instead of eighteen as currently occurring! This building still stands today across from City Hall just off Third Avenue opposite Springdale Elementary Schools
Arnold was founded in 1836 by James and Elizabeth Arnold. The Arnold Manufacturing Company was the first company in the area to produce locomotives. In 1864, when the Union Pacific Railroad came through town, the Arnold Manufacturing Company became part of the railroad. The city began to grow rapidly after its incorporation as a municipality in 1907. The population reached 100,000 by 1920 and 350,000 by 1940. By 1970, it had increased to 1 million people. The city has since shrunk, with most of its population concentrated in south-central Missouri within the metro area of Kansas City and St. Louis. Today, Arnold is home to a small business district that includes several large stores and restaurants as well as smaller businesses catering to a variety of interests including health care services and office supplies.
