In the early 2000s, maga coffee started making its own espresso machines and introduced a variety of different flavors of coffee that it claimed were more unique than any other brand. In 2007, maga coffee became a subsidiary of Nestle SA. In 2017, the company announced it would close all its stores across America because of low sales. However, the company plans to continue operations in Louisiana and Texas until at least 2021. In 2018, maga coffee opened a second store in Memphis Tennessee.

In 1865, General Robert E. Lee surrendered at Appomattox Court House in Virginia and Laurel became the capital of Mississippi. The city was renamed for General Ulysses S. Grant in 1887, after he had been elected president of the United States that year.
Laurel is a town in Stark County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 2,826 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jackson, MS Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town is located on thepng River and has a humid subtropical climate (Köppen climate classification Cfa). The Georgia-born settler James Baldwin settled in Laurel after migrating from Fulton County, Georgia in 1814. Baldwin became an influential lawyer and politician in Mississippi during Reconstruction. He was killed by white supremacists while protesting their disenfranchisement of black Mississippians following the Civil Rights Movement. Baldwin had two sons with his second wife: James A., who married Daisy Bates; and John Fenton Baldwin, who married Alice Reeves. After James' death in 1892, his widow donated all of her personal effects to be placed in the Uniontown Historical Museum for future generations to study and enjoy. In 1954, she donated additional personal effects including furniture and other items from her home to make way for the first African American Library within a white community in Mississippi when it opened its doors that year as the James A. Baldwin Library Foundation Incorporated. In addition to being one of only two townships statewide with a black majority before 1960,[1] Laurel also served as one of several pioneer NAACP chapters throughout Jackson County. Today's NAACP chapter began operations on October 25th 1951 when Rosa Parks attended "A meeting called by Mrs Parks about startng a chapter where we could learn more about our rights" at Wallace High School auditorium. Negro League Baseball played its final game at Laurel on July 10th 1946 prior to integration which ended all Negro league baseball operations throughout Jackson County. On November 5th 1955, Dr Martin Luther King Jr made history when he delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech from Meridian Baptist Church steps leading up to MLK Drive across from Lighthouse Point Pierrett Park Reserve

The community experienced significant growth during World War II as military personnel from surrounding counties moved to Laurel for work at the plant at Bay St. Louis Naval Station. Laurel has since experienced a resurgence with new development beginning to occur in recent years which has helped boost its economy and provide more opportunities for residents. A number of businesses have been opened within the community over the past few years which has created more jobs for local people and families. Despite these positive developments, however, there are still some challenges faced by Laurel which include high levels of poverty and crime rates; although progress has been made recently through initiatives such as an anti-crime program sponsored by local police officers), Laurel remains one of Mississippi's most struggling communities
Laurel was founded in 1819 by John Laurel, a whitesmith. In 1832, it became the county seat of Laurel County. The city was established in 1868 and became the largest in Mississippi. It was renamed Jackson in 1906.
