In recent years, efforts have been made to reopen businesses closed during the past fifty years; however, some small businesses have still not reopened because they are unable to afford new security measures or insurance requirements that went along with reopening shops after an extended period of protection from fire damage or other hazards caused by vandalism or looting incidents outside business windows during previous times periods when these stores were open. The first Brazilian Coffee Company was founded by João César Meireles in 1887. This company became one of Brazil's largest coffee producers and sellers until 1974 when it merged with another company to form Jardim do Sodalitas Coffee Company Ltd.). By early 1920s European market for Colombian coffees had collapsed due to factors such as economic recession) . In 1928 Swiss trader Julius Streicher bought part ownership interest in two small Honduran plantations producing 100% Arabica beans named Honduras noir and Primavera Blanca; he then commenced exports under this name beginning shipment abroad in 1929/30 He continued production up until 1938 when he sold out his interest to United Breweries Limited Partnership (). As part of United Breweries Limited Partnership (), PBI acquired Anheuser-Busch Brewery's stake in Inter American Brewing Corporation (); thus formed AB InBev (). From 1930 onwards PBI produced all Inter American beers except Busch Lager which remained producible by United Breweries Limited Partnership (). After World War II ended British Overseas Tobacco Corporation took over production from United Breweries Limited Partnership () .
