America’s war effort started with training of military forces for the invasion of North Africa which took place on December 8th 1942. On January 20th 1945 President Harry S Truman activated National Defense Reserve Fleet (NDRF) to provide arms and munitions to Canada during the war time period. After World War II ended in 1945 USS George Washington sailed from New York City carrying nearly 3,000 soldiers and sailors who were assigned as part of occupation forces in Germany until they were called home by October 1946. In 1948 Congress passed act that created Department of Homeland Security (DHS). DHS was charged with creating a national system for regulating transportation security including coastal security along our country's borders; developing plans for responding to earthquakes, hurricanes and other natural disasters; maintaining information about wanted criminals; building secure facilities for government officials; conducting research into crime problems; enlarging the number of police officers available for patrols in rural areas; increasing numbers of firefighting personnel; and more! Since its inception there have been many advancements made in coastal security including: -the development of homeland defense capabilities such as early warning systems, interceptors/rear-guard missile launchers/fire brigades etc.; -the establishment or replacement of several coast guard stations across the nation since their inception while also accommodating increased needs such as vessels measuring over 100 feet long having a displacement greater than 10 tons having an armament greater than five rounds per chamber etc.; -the installation or replacement of various radars along our coasts both manned and unmanned systems making it possible nowdays not only to see but also track objects up to 500 nautical miles away while also allowing us access to Beaufort Sea area which is off our shoreline

Grenada, Mississippi is a small town in Hancock County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 1,829 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jackson metropolitan area. The community was founded by English settlers in 1854 and named for Grenada in the British West Indies. After being incorporated as a village in 1872, it became a town when it annexed nearby Corinth in 1907. Grenada's post office was established on December 5, 1907. The name change came about because residents were concerned about being confused with neighboring Corinth which had the same name but different pronunciation (the G-R-E-N-D-A sound). The first school opened in Grenada on October 25, 1854. One of its early students was Willis Barnes who later became an influential Jackson lawyer and politician. A second school was built on what is now the main square of the town after funding from local citizens and businesses arrived to help finish construction of a new courthouse and other public works during the 1850s and 1860s. Although not all children attended these schools due to lack of money or space; many adults did so because they wanted their children to have an opportunity to learn something important during their formative years no matter where they lived or worked within society. During Reconstruction following America's Civil War (1861–1865), Grenada saw strong African American activism that helped secure voting rights for black Americans before they were granted full citizenship by Congress following Reconstruction hearings held at Meridianville Plantation near Memphis, Tennessee in 1865 under President Ulysses S. Grant's Veto proclamation restoring civil rights to former Confederate soldiers and civilians living east of Confederate lines including those living in Hancock County specifically In 1919grenadians supported prohibitionist candidate James Weldon Johnson against incumbent Huey Long who advocated forance control over liquor sales throughout most of Mississippi statehood; however Johnson won both races handily .In 1955 grenadians elected John F Kennedy as governor defeating Strom Thurston .
