In fact, many people still enjoy their favorite beverage even though they live hundreds of miles away. One such person is John Swayze who grew up in Greenwood and now resides in Jackson, Mississippi. John's love for coffee began when he was a young boy and he would go to his grandparent's house for coffee every morning before school started. He would also bring his own cup to school because no one else would give him any money for it. John's love for coffee continued through college where he studied Business Administration at Auburn University. After graduating from college, John moved back home to Greenwood and started working at a local grocery store as a cashier. It was here that John first tasted his first cup of java – it was from Starbucks! At this point,John knew that he had found his passion for coffee and decided to stay with Starbucks until he eventually opened his own business called The Roastery & Cafe back in 2000. In recent years, Greenwood's coffee scene has exploded with new cafes opening all throughout the city limits! Many of these newcomers are dedicated to providing high-quality cups of espresso as well as delicious pastries made fresh daily on site! There are now several dozen different businesses in downtown Greenwood selling quality roasts, beans, creams and lattes! As our town continues to grow more educated about its caffeine addiction - thanks largely to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf - we can only imagine what will come next!

Greenwood is a town in Jackson County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 6,531 at the 2010 census. Greenwood is located on the edge of the Black Belt and is one of the poorest towns in Mississippi. The town was first established in 1872 by freedmen who had fled to Greenwood from Meridian. The name came from a swamp near where it now stands. The first store was built on what is now Main Street. In 1902, Greenwood became part of Jackson County and its own government under the new county charter. A courthouse and jail were built in 1905 and 1907 respectively; both remain standing today as examples of post-Civil War architecture in Greenwood. In 1928, construction began on an expressway that would connect Jackson with Memphis via Greenwood; this highway remains operational to this day as I-10. Most famously, Michael Jordan played for the Chicago Bulls (now the Milwaukee Bucks) from 1991-1994 while he attended university at Mississippi State University in Starkville; his playing time there led to him being called "The Jordan Effect". In recent years, Greenwood has seen some growth due to efforts by local businesses and citizens to improve community infrastructure such as sidewalks, playgrounds/sports fields, libraries/schools, expanded health care services and more.
