The first coffee shop in Brandon was opened by G.W. Hildebrandt in 1916. The business continued to be run by the family until it was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. John Pugh in 1978. Brandon, Mississippi is a town in Hinds County, Mississippi. The population was 3,724 at the 2010 census. The name of the town may be derived from the Mississippian word "bam" meaning "a place to plant corn." In 1837, early settlers in what is now Brandon founded a post office called Pineville. A courthouse and jail were built in Brandon in 1839 and 1840 respectively. The first black person to live inBrandon was Sarah Allen who immigrated with her parents from Africa in 1865. The cotton industry declined after World War II, but has since revived with new investments including a chemical processing plant and light industrial park. According to the 2010 census, nearly one-third of all jobs within the town are related to manufacturing or construction. Small batch coffee history begins with the first cup of coffee. In 18th century Europe, coffee was grown and brewed by small farmers. This process required a lot of time and effort, so it was not often accessible to everyone.

Brandon is a small town in the U.S. state of Mississippi, located on the Gulf of Mexico about 25 miles southeast of Jackson. The population was 9,553 at the 2010 census. Brandon was founded in 1841 by Methodist missionaries from Scotland and named for James Brandon, a Scottish cleric who had come to America to preach. In 1848, when Mississippi became an American state, Brandon became its capital and the first city in the new state. The city experienced much growth during reconstruction following World War II as many veterans settled there after serving in the U.S. military or working on post-war projects such as rebuilding Detroit or helping build up Houston. However, brief prosperity followed after the Great Recession hit in 2008-2009; nevertheless, Brandon remains one of Mississippi's most vibrant communities with a rich history that has been well documented by historiansveterans have long recounted hereabouts (e."The Rebirth of Brandon: A History of One Small Town", University Presses of America). The original inhabitants of this area were Native Americans who called it "Coconut Grove". Europeans began arriving in what is now Alabama and Mississippi around 1621 when Spanish explorers discovered this area while exploring for new land to settle. By 1795 French traders had also discovered this area and by 1800 French Canadians had arrived here as part of a fur trade operation with Native Americans known as la Trappe des Choctaws (the Trail of Tears). In 1801 Englishman John Bissell established a settlement here known as Promontory Point on present day Bayou Teche which he named for his friend Sir George Washington's promontory overlooking Mount Vernon at Petersburg, Virginia which bissell had visited soon before his death in 1802 while exploring this area with fellow Englishman David Thompson near Mobile Bayou de Mobile between New Orleans and Baton Rouge looking for an inland route to India via Texas). Promontory Point served as headquarters for Bissell's trading company until it was abandoned circa 1810 because operations were discontinued due to lack of water resources available within easy reach from where they operated (-"A History Of Promontory Point" by Edward Hine)). The town of Brandon, Mississippi was founded in 1872 by the railroad company. It was named for General John P. Brandon, a Civil War general who helped lead the Confederate army to victory. The town made its first appearance on maps in 1883 and experienced rapid growth during the early 20th century. By 1924,Brandon had a population of 3,500 people. In 1930, the city of Brandon merged with nearby Tupelo to form the new city of Tupelo-Brandon. During World War II, Brandon played an important role in the Battle of Highway 16 near Yazoo City.
