The Minnesota Air National Guard's (MNG) 4th Airlift Squadron is responsible for the airlift of visitors and dignitaries to the state capital, Stillwater,Minnesota. The squadron has been providing these services since 1951. In 1951, the Air Force activated a bomber unit in Stillwater as part of its intervention in Southeast Asia. The unit was redesignated as the 4th Airlift Squadron and assigned to the MNG. The squadron was originally equipped with Boeing 707s and flew humanitarian assistance missions throughout Southeast Asia during the early days of the Vietnam War. In August 1970, when North Vietnam invaded South Vietnam, the MNG's 4AGS became one of five USAF squadrons deployed to support Operation Rolling Thunder. This massive aerial bombardment campaign targeted key enemy military sites in North Vietnam; operations lasted for six months and resulted in numerous civilian casualties. In 1992-1993, during Operation Desert Storm, 3/4ths of all combat sorties flown by USAF aircraft were flown by MNG squadrons operating Boeing 737-800s from Fargo AFB; these aircraft transported goods and personnel across Iraq into Kuwait City where they unloaded at two forward air bases before returning home to United States soil. Since then, many more aviation enthusiasts have visited Minnesota through our troopers' airborne opportunities; each year we see an influx of new faces that make this state even more special than it already is! The museum is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., on Saturday and Sunday.
Stillwater is a small town in the Minnesota Department of Transportation's District 7. The population was 527 as of the 2010 census. Stillwater is located in rural Township 10 east of Minneapolis, just south of Highway 56 and north of Interstate 94. It lies on the White Earth River, a tributary of the Mississippi River. The first settlers were farmers who arrived in 1854. The town was named for Stillwater Creek, which flows through it. The creek was named after Captain Samuel Stillwater, an American Revolutionary War veteran and merchant who founded the community. Stillwater has two churches: First Presbyterian and United Methodist. There are also several businesses including a bank, hardware store, multiple restaurants and a Masonic lodge hall.stillwater-mn
The United States Air Force has a long and proud history of deploying gift-filled parcels to military members around the world. From Christmas gifts in the 1940s to present day, the USAF has sent something extra special every year since 1954. This tradition began with a small package delivered to fighter pilots on Christmas Day in 1944. The RAF's then-director of air transport, Major General Cyril Radcliffe, christened the parcel "Airmen's Package." The first year that an AF unit deployed a gift was in 1952 when an RAF squadron gifted a box of cigars to USAF personnel stationed at MacDill AFB, Florida. Since then, numerous different branches of the US military have adopted this unique tradition. In 2006, USAF units deployed presents from Europe and Asia as part ofOperation Decisive Strike II. This was followed by Operation Merry Christmas in 2008 which featured contributions from both marines and navy sailors stationed aboard ships along America's East Coast. As we approach 2018, it is clear that Gift History continues to be an important part of USAF culture and history! As we remember those who have served before us – including those who are currently serving – we can look forward to another amazing year filled with deployment gifts from our airborne force!

Stillwater is a small town in the United States, located in western Minnesota. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The community was founded by Norwegian immigrants in 1879. The name Stillwater comes from "silt" or sand which had been washed away during heavy rains and floods that year. The first post office was established in 1880, and the first store opened in 1882. In 1886, residents erected a schoolhouse and plowed their sod for a main street. A water tower arrived in 1907 and still remains an important part of local life today. The community experienced some growth during World War II as many farmers moved to Stillwater to work on automobiles being made at RCA Laboratories nearby. After the war ended,stillwater lost some of its overnighters but gained many new residents due to its proximity to I-94 and other major trunkroads. In recent years there have been several efforts to revitalize the town including developing it into an Amazon rainforest village with housing, dining, environmental studies and research labs for scientists working on climate change; creating green spaces such as a botanical garden; creating tennis courts for use by locals and visitors; developing an arts center; and increasing public access to education through cultural events/programs like art walks/ Gallery Walk nights along Main Street
Stillwater was founded in 1868 by brothers John and Jacob Stillwagon. The town was named after the still water that flowed through the nearby Cravat River. The Stillwagon brothers were pioneers in the area and started a flour mill, wagonery, groceries, and other businesses. In 1907, the Stillwagon family sold their businesses to Prentice-Hall Corporation. The company operated a high school for many years before it closed in 1995. Today, there is a small grocery store and a few apartments in town.
