In 1949, the Minnesota Guards were given their own battalion and were renamed the 6th Infantry Regiment (MN). In 1971, when statehood was granted to Minnesota, the 6th Infantry Regiment became part of the new state guard system and continued to wear its Ranger green uniforms with white stars until 1991 when they were converted into military police units wearing similar uniforms but without gold stars on their chests. 2nd Battalion, State Police (Minnesota) is now headquartered at 507 Nicollet Ave NE in Saint Paul; 3rd Battalion both located in Minneapolis; 4th Battalion headquartered at Apollo Beach Army Reservation; 5th Battalion is stationed at Brainerd Army Reserve Center near Rochester; 6th Brigade Combat Team based at Maplewood Army Depot near Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport; 7th Brigade Combat Team based at Golden Valley Army Depot outside Appleton Throughout its history, 2nd Battalion State Police (Minnesota) has been an essential part of our community by providing law enforcement services that are needed most during times of peace or emergency such as protests or natural disasters like floods or tornadoes etc.. They also provide valuable training opportunities for local officers through participate in events such as SWAT team raids which often results in arrests/justice being delivered quickly while preserving public safety

The Saint Michael Parish in Minnesota was established in 1857 by Father Francis Xavier Chaney. The parish is located in the city of Minneapolis, and it has a population of over 100,000. The parish Bishop, Monsignor John Fenton, served from 1964 to 2002. St. Michael’s Parish is one of many Catholic churches that have been thriving in the Twin Cities since the early 1800s. The first Catholic church on Nicollet Avenue was built in 1856 by Father Chaney and serves as our parish home today! Ourchurch also operates two elementary schools- St. Michaels School for Pre-schoolers and Magee Elementary- as well as a high school which serves students from across the city: St. Michaels High School! Father Chaney founded our parish after moving to Minnesota from Baltimore, Maryland where he had been pastor of an Archdiocese there for many years. After coming to Minnesota he dedicated himself to helping build up this new community and providing opportunities for members of his congregation to grow into adulthood within a Christian setting. In addition to his preaching ministry at OurChurch we also enjoyed music apostolate including choral singing, organ playing, music theory lessons and much more! In 1963 when Archbishop John Germann retired he named Monsignor John Fenton our new bishop who would serve until his retirement in 2002. During Bishop Fenton’s time we saw some major changes both at OurChurch and throughout the Twin Cities Catholic community with regards to finances; however despite these challenges we continue to thrive because we are guided by God’s love through faithfulness to His will for us all! Bishop Fenton left us with strong values including celebrating Mass regularly on Saturday mornings instead of Sundays due importance given that “the Early Years provide a model for all Children hereafter who may wish or be able to go back into Church services every morning without fail” (Fenton). We are grateful that Bishop Fenton has continued our Parish growth even under difficult times while maintaining important values like family tradition which continues today among many generations of saints!
