Lafayette's headquarters were in Clearwater until he moved them to Ionia in 1824; after his death they were removed from Ionia to St.Louis Park where they remain today (the location remains confusing because part of Hastings now forms part of Minneapolis). The first European settler here was Pierre Vigneault who arrived by canoe in 1781; he built a trading post near present day Maple Grove before moving upriver into what is now Ramsey County but then became Stittsville which he renamed Clearwater after himself while still living near present day Maple Grove( ). A second Frenchman named Francois Xavier Parenteau came overland from Canada around 1800; he founded Whatcom Township on what is now White Bear Road just south of Center Street( ). After taking over much land eastward from Dakota Territory becoming Manitoba Territory under British rule in 1867, Minnesota Territorial Governor James Dixon decided to move all Indian reservations within its borders so instead choice was given by residents “to settle an enterprise outside our jurisdiction” – this included going looking for new sites for villages or townships northwest half way between Minneapolis/Saint Paul and Duluth/Moline so called “Dixontownships” . In 1870 Dixon designated part of what are now Minneapolis/Saint Paul as Dickson Township partnered with Vennerville Township northeast cornering Rice Lake creating an area with similar boundaries today known as Eden Prairie which housed about 600 settlers by 1880 when steamboats began bringing passengers upriver from Duluth opposite Nicollet Island carrying goods such as lumber back downriver chartering ferries landing at Pier One Ferry Landing & Rising Sun Lighthouse In 1882 Charles Goodyear opened a small store on North Avenue Northeast soon followed by others establishing stores throughout town Lots traveled short distances being sold off along Interstates 94 & 55 Morningside Heights became another commercial center brick building 5500 N Broadway changed hands many times Stores closed along Riverside Street NE finally coming down due to fire 1904 Bethlehem Steel Co purchased lot next door Became Bethlehem Shipbuilding Works 1916

St. Louis Park is a city in Minnesota, United States. The population was 103,824 at the 2010 census. It is the seventh-largest city in Minnesota and the largest city east of the Mississippi River. Saint Louis Park was founded in 1857 as a small town on land donated by General David Dixon and named after his father, Colonel Henry Knox St.Louis Park was incorporated as a city on February 15, 1909 and became one of Minneapolis' original five wards (the others being Hennepin, Lyndale, Brooklyn Park, and White Bear Lake). The population increased rapidly during World War II with St. Louis Park becoming known for its Boeing Plant which produced military planes such as the B-29 Superfortress and P-38 Lightning fighter planes.
In 1868, the area around present-day St. Louis Park was part of the Dakota Territory. The land here was contested between settlers and Native Americans for years, with no clear winners until 1862 when a treaty was signed by both groups. This agreement saw the Treaty of Fort Snelling be ratified, giving Minnesota its first permanent resident population. In 1870, a new town called Saint Cloud was founded on the site of what is now McNichols Park in Minneapolis. The town quickly grew and annexed other towns until it had a population of over 10,000 people in 1876. That year, Saint Cloud became the capital of Minnesota and it remains so to this day.
