Shoreview, Minnesota is a small town located in the southeast corner of Minnesota. The population was 1,853 at the 2010 census. It is one of only two towns in Ramsey County with a population under 10,000 people. The earliest coffee beans were grown and roasted on the family farmstead near present-day Shoreview. In 1906, Harry Kapp started importing coffee from Brazil and growing his own beans on his farmstead near Hibbing. By 1912, all of Kapp's beans had been processed and sold as Shoreline Coffee Company products. In 1927, John Everson founded the first paper mill inMinnesota; it produced newsprint for local newspapers and also supplied pulp for publishing houses such as Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and Scribner's Sons. The plant closed in 1957 but reopened in 1992 as a cafe called Ponderosa Coffee & Donuts Ltd., which still operates today. In 1961, Shoreline began to export its coffee to Japan through an agreement with Nippon Coffee Corporation (now JSC Nippon Paper Industry Co.). This venture led to the creation of other small-scale manufacturing businesses throughout Southeast Asia that continues to this day – including Indonesia's first commercial coffee plantation (Coffeeina), Thailand's largest coffee grower (Nagaoka), Malaysia's largest producer of ground coffee (Raja Petra University), and Singapore's second largest ground bean buyer (Perak Coffee). Shoreview is a town inJamestown County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is the namesake of Shoreview Peninsula on the shore of Lake Superior. The town has been in existence since 1858 and Town Board meetings are held monthly at 6pm. The first post office in Shoreview was established in 1859. A store and general store were built in 1860, and a mill was built in 1862. The first school was organized in 1865 and classes were taught by Mrs. Matson until 1870 when a schoolhouse was built. In 1869, a blacksmith shop and lumberyard were added to the town site; this became known as Blacksmiths Corner. In 1878 a sawmill, gristmill, cotton gin and telephone line were constructed; these remain extant today as part of the Shoreview Peninsula Community Development Area (CDA). In 1898, an L-shaped bridge over Lake Superior connecting downtown with the new community of Apple Valley was completed; it remains operational today as part of Road 2 Bridge Project No. 4A.. In 1907, a park called "Lake View Park" was created adjacent to what is now White Sands Shopping Center on North Main Street; it still operates today as one of Minneapolis' largest public parks with over , including . In 1916 federal troops landed at Pier 21 on the shore of Lake Superior during World War I to provide support for military operations along that coast; they left after two weeks when conditions became too hazardous for their transportation back home across open water to their bases inland. In 1951–1952 Shoreline High School moved from its original location on South Side Avenue near Interstate 94 into its current building which replaced an older structure which had become too dilapidated for use as a high school campus. The township's first fire department arrived in 1949 when three Volunteer firefighters responded to help erect Fenton Dam tower used for emergency phone service between downtown Minneapolis and Farmington Hills; this tower still stands today across from Highway 8th Street NE near Interstate 35E just east of Highway 36W exit #2 off I-35E., providing excellent views of both Lake Erie & Straits Of Mackinac National Wildlife Refuge from its summit! After years passed during which no major development occurred within town limits, residents voted 3–1/2 times through referendum approved annexation by neighboring Bloomington Township effective 1 January 2006 following approval granted by then-Governor Tim Pawlenty via proclamation issued 5 December 2005 pursuant to section 10a(1)of the Geographic Names Act 16 U .S .C . § 10410(a)). After annexation there have been some changes with more development taking place within town boundaries such as: incorporation of unincorporated areas around Shorewood Heights neighborhood northwest of highway 36W exit #2 off I-35E., establishment forthwith by ordinance (annexation action number KF020307) of Bloomington Township Comprehensive Plan Revision Committee regarding addition or replacement - without vote - existing single family dwellings within/adjacent thereto proposed for zoning change from R3 thru S4 district characterizing them only as accessory Dwelling Units rather than liveable buildings subject to special regulations promulgated thereunder underMN Open Housing Law §5‑6‑5

Shoreview, Minnesota is a town located in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,615 at the 2010 census. Shoreview is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to live in what is now Shoreview were French Canadian fur traders who built trading posts along the Saint Croix River in 1827 and 1828. In 1854, General Ulysses S. Grant made an overland trip from Council Bluffs, Iowa to Fort Snelling on the Mississippi River and called this area "Shorewood." In 1872, a group of businessmen led by David Laird bought 640 acres (247 hectares) of land near the mouth of the Saint Crispin Creek for $10 per acre ($2 million today). They named their new town after General Grant's headquarters at Fort Snelling. In 1915, when Congress passed an act authorizing creation of Regional Development Authoritys throughout the United States under authority of Section 215 of Title II of the Social Security Act (42 USC 423), shoreline residents lobbied hard to be included in RDA #3 which would have consisted only of municipalities with a population over 5,000 people. The towns of Brooklyn Center and Edina were also added to RDA #3 but they did not become operational until 1933 due to lack of endorsement from regional officials. In 1935–1936 Shorewood developed into one of America's most rapidly growing cities due in large part to its location as a bedroom community for Minneapolis-St Paul metropolitan area workers commuting into both cities during World War II; as well as its status as center for light industry and air traffic control during that time period; and its role as host city for both Twin Cities International Air Fair (1946), NATO Summit (1949), Twins Festival (1973), and Stribling Award Banquet (1986). Right up until his death on October 14th 2006 former Mayor Norm Coleman had been working tirelessly on behalfof Shorewood Township through committees appointed by him such as: Planning Commission; Zoning Appeals Committee; Floodplain Management Subcommittee; Historic Preservation Advisory Board--all charged with recommending ways township could improve infrastructure including stormwater management, beautifying streetscapes etc... while still adhering to zoning regulations established before he became Mayor !!!
Onshoreview was founded in 1854 by a group of farmers who migrated from Denmark. The town was named for the Onset River, which forms the border between Shoreview and US-20. The first store in Shoreview opened in 1857. In 1865, the first post office was established in Shoreline and it remained in operation until 1958. The town's first pastor, Rev. John Hagerup, preached at the First Presbyterian Church from 1868 to 1870. In 1875, Onshoreview became a city and it has since grown to be one of Minnesota's most populous communities with over 100,000 residents. In 1916, Onshoreview participated in the founding of Minneapolis; it remains its largest city today.
