Roseville is a small town in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 7,859 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The first white settlers in Roseville arrived in 1854. The town was named after rosebushes that grew near the original site of the post office. The Roses were a local family which operated a millinery business and also raised chickens and cows on their farmstead until 1926 when they sold all their property to make way for renovation of the high school and new construction of other civic buildings including a library, community center and arts district. The present day Roseville was founded as a borough in 1896 by residents of Hennepin County who wanted to form a separate municipality but were prevented from doing so by state law because Ramsey County was then divided into two counties - Hennepin and Dakota. On July 1, 1907, Roseville became an incorporated city Limits under state government control after it won a referendum to become an independent municipality through agrarian reform legislation passed by the Minnesota legislature that year. On January 1, 1959, Roseville became one of six communities within Minneapolis-St. Paul included in its metropolitan area following the city's formal acquisition by Minnesota Governor Nelson Acheson as part of his "New Cities" program which aimed to improve public transportation and economic development within urban areas across the country while preserving traditional streetcar lines running through downtown Minneapolis-Saint Paul . As part of its celebration of its centenary in 2009/2010, Roseville unveiled plans for redevelopment which would include expanding its current shopping mall with more than 100 specialty stores as well as residences for up to 495 people; construction on what would be called "the entertainment district" (including movie theaters along High Street) began in earnest in late 2009 and is expected to be complete before summer 2011; and annexation by Minneapolis completed on March 25th,, 2010 making Roseville one full member of that city’s civic infrastructure complex – “One Union Place” – giving it responsibility for both budgeting proceedings within City Hall as well as managing various services delivered through such initiatives as streetlights and policing functions essential to keeping One Union Places social fabric ticking over without interruption

Roseville is a small town in the Minnesota county of Ramsey. It was founded by Norwegian immigrants in 1868, and became a brisk commercial center for agriculture and ranching during the early twentieth century. The population peaked at about 20,000 in 1920, but declined rapidly after World War II until it reached its current level of around 12,000 in 2000. Roseville is located on the banks of the Mississippi River, less than two miles from the state line. The town's namesake comes from a rosebush that grew near the railroad station. In 1863, four men from Norway named Olsen set out to find a new home for their families. They selected Roseville as their new home because it offered plenty of space and good prospects for farming. The first settler in Roseville was Lars Olsen, who moved into what is now part of the village of East Grand Rapids in 1868. By 1870, there were nineteen settlers living in Roseville; all except one were Norwegian immigrants. The early years of Roseville's existence were hard times; many farmers lost their land during the Panic of 1893 and subsequent recession. However, with help from sympathetic local merchants and bankers, some people did manage to make some money through heavy industry development (such as lumber) or other entrepreneurial endeavors during this time period. Some key figures during these difficult times include Rasmus Rasmussen (1851-1929), who ran an unsuccessful general store before becoming a successful banker; Ole Hansen (1863-1942), who served as mayor from 1916 to 1918; and John Pohlman (1858-1950), who was instrumental in developing Roseville's agricultural sector by founding several businesses such as a feed mill and a hay wagon company. During World War I, RoseVILLE played an important role as both an American military baseand logistics hub for munitions shipments arriving via railroads en route to Europe . Many munitions factories were established here including Bethlehem Steel Company which produced tanks and artillery shells ; JW Gossage Refrigerator Corporation which manufactured air conditioners ; Deering Glass Company which manufactured windows ; United States Rubber Company which made tires ; Thompsons Tire & Rubber Company which produced automotive parts also significant contributions came from local churches like St Paul’s Episcopal Church whose ministers helped provide food parcels to troops fighting on crusade overseas while also helping manage international trade relationships with Great Britain , France , Belgium etc.; Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church which donated land for Rosesvillet Cemetery ; Saint Michael’s Catholic Church situated just east of town on Hwy 534 ); Holy Cross Catholic Parish established west side of town on Hwy 534 ); First Presbyterian Church built east side off main street . Overall these organizations responded quickly to wartime needs by donating goods or services either directly or through intermediary organizations such as Red Cross Society . In 1919 when Holland Lindquist became acting postmaster due to vacancy caused by death of previous holder John Atherton III he requested donations be sent immediately instead sending checks made payable “To The Postmasters Of America” so that everyone could get involvedIn 1921 post office began accepting orders through express mail rather then telephone system adoptive name changed To USA Postal Service On July 1st 1934 Post Office opened under new management From 1935 till 1946 It Wasowned And Operated By The United States Government Agencies This History Does Not Include Time Change Of Name To USPS
