In 1907-1908, construction began on what would become one of America's first shopping malls when contributions from local businesses led to its naming by then-Mayor George Earp as "Eveleth Mall". The mall opened on November 8, 1908 with 100 stores including J. C. Penney & Co., Ford Motor Company, Sears Roebuck & Co., Macy's Department Store (now Wrigley Field), Marshall Fields department store (now Kohl’s), Woolworth’s grocery store (now Target), Jardine’s Knotts Trading Post (later known as Jardine’s Jewelers), Haverty’s Sporting Goods and More; it also contained a movie theater called the Majestic Theatre which screens movies nightly from May 1 through October 31 during weekdays only between 7:00 P.M.–11:00 P.M.; and an open air swimming pool called "The Pool" which opened on July 20th 1914 beside Interstate 94 near Valleyfair Shopping Center before being replaced by CenturyLink Field in 2000 After years of decline due to suburbanization and lack of support fromroseville merchants for development within their borders outside their own neighborhoods/townships withinRoseville],the City Council voted in 2006 to annex portions of central Eveleth Township intoRoseVILLE following an agreement whereby Eveleth Township would contribute land for water filtration plants within its borders while also providing financial assistance towards said projects that were proposed withinRoseVILLE per said annexation agreement On December 3rd 2006 Mayor Earp announced that construction was complete on a new $35 million dollar arena complex that would house both NHL hockey teams the Minnesota Wild and NBA basketball teamMinnesota Timberwolves .The name given to this project was "Avery Place" after long-time Rosevillian president Avery Gardiner who personally donated $35 million dollars towards said project

The first settler in what is now Roseville was James Spaulding and his family who came from Georgia in 1851. They built the present day Spaulding House on what is now State Street just east of what is now Park Avenue. In 1870 John McClendon settled near where Round Lake sits today and his son John moved to Roseville about 1880 when he began to prospect for coal near present day Marathon Boulevard and US 14. About 1888 Heman Russett established himself southeast of town on land which later became Russett Park After Pennsylvania Railroad abandoned itsUEHL line through Ramsey County in 1907 much of the rural area around Roseville became developed into housing subdivisions with names like Sunrise Heights, strong Ridgely after prominent developer JF Strongridge and many others that followed suit until such time as railroads were resurrected within Ramsey County by the 1950s or so (McClendon Road served as one such line). One reason why new development occurred along railroad lines rather than elsewhere may have been becauseRosevillians could always be counted upon to populate any nearby towns during boom times or during construction projects – either because they were needed for labor or simply because they had an easy out if things didn't work out economically back home A post office called Plummer opened in 1912; it closed two years later due to lack of customers In 1916 City Councilwoman Mrs A C Goodwin donated land west of downtown for a public park which would eventually become Roosevelt Park .
