Robbinsdale is a small town in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area, located about 20 miles east of downtown Minneapolis on the Robbinsdale River. The population was 10,846 at the 2010 census. It is part of the MN-WI Metropolitan Statistical Area. Robbinsdale is known for its cheese and pumpkin pies. The town was founded in 1861 by John Prentice and his wife Sarah as a farming community on a swampy bend in the river between present-day Robbinsdale and Maple Grove. In 1872, Robbinsdale became an incorporated municipality with a post office, then a railroad stop on the Minnesota Central Railroad before becoming an independent city in 1902. The name "Robbinsdale" likely comes from John Prentice's father, who had been born there in 1824 and died there four years later. The early settlers were white British immigrants who arrived around 1860 and named their farmstead after their hometowns: Haverfordwest near Bristol, England; Halifax in Nova Scotia; Ipswich, MA; and Robbinsdale near Decorah (now parts of Bloomington), IA. They began to purchase land hereabouts beginning in 1871 when they set up home base on bluffs overlooking the river where they would grow crops such as corn, oats, potatoes, beans and other vegetables until railroads finally brought them industry to what were then subsistence levels during the late 1800s – first via wagon trains carrying goods overland from Iowa City down through Illinois until reaching Stroudsburg Junction outside Philadelphia – then via boatloads of passengers disembarking from steamboats anchored along both rivers each fall to pick apples off trees along route 1 or 2 enroute to markets back East before winter shuttled these same boats back out across icebound Hudson Bay laden with produce for local farmers/grocers during springtime when prices ranged from $0-$4 per bushel! In 1902–03 when Minneapolis-St Paul annexed Robbinsdale into its limits making it an official city due largely to efforts spearheaded by Mayor Jacob Riis – whose widow ran Councilwoman Anna Holmes’ successful campaign for mayoralty against incumbent William Reid – downtown merchants decided that what once functioned primarily as a frontier outpost now needed more than just groceries and post office services but also civic amenities like libraries & schools which would finally become available following $5 million dollars worth of construction investment by Main Street boosters including future MN Govs George Mitchell & Jesse Ventura! This ambition eventually led to today’s busy Streetscape District occupying much of modern day Downtown Robbinsdale combining retail stores with high end restaurants while continuing intact much earlier architecture including some 30 pioneer log homes dating back to1861 still standing today within easy walking distance not only of all residents but alsoof many larger commercial properties situated atop nearby hills providing limitlessantage views directly onto downtown StPaul skyline (& surrounding suburbs)

Robbinsdale is a small town located in thewestcentral corner of Minnesota. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. Robbinsdale lies on the east bank of the Lower Sioux River, about midway between Minneapolis and St. Paul. It was founded in 1847 by Captain John Robbins and his brother-in-law, General Andrew Johnson, as a site for a trading post on the upper Minnesota River. In 1857, Robbinsdale became an incorporated town with a population of 705 people. The first settlers in Robbinsdale were farmers who grew corn, oats, potatoes and other vegetables for local consumption or export to markets in Illinois and Wisconsin. By 1871, however, Robbinsdale had become an important commercial center due to its location along both banks of the Lower Sioux River and its access to transportation including four bridges spanning the river. In 1902, Robbinsdale became one of nine townships within Dakota County formed from portions of Ramsey County when that county was created followingthe admission of Minnesota into the Union as a state。In 1912–1913, Robbinsdale was also one of nineteen townships within Dakota County that voted to secede fromMinnesota because they felt their representation in government was not fair(). During World War II, many businesses in Robbinsdale wereilitized for military service by patriotic Americans who contributed money or time to organizations such as American Legion or United Field Artillery battalion #2 (PFAB 2). Many residents also volunteered their services during wartime through various civilian activities such as teaching children how to cook Victory gardens or caring for wounded servicemen and women. After World War II ended there was significant growth in business activity due to increased energy production associated with various industrial developments such as Refinery A (now known as Midland Energy) located just outside town limits; two paper companies - Joline Paper Company (later renamed Houghton Mifflin Harcourt) which built several mills around town; plus typesetting plants operated by Kress & Co., Life Insurance Company and others throughout western North Dakota until 1982 when those plants closed down due to competition from computersized printing industry development in neighboring states such as Texas and Iowa
