The United States Army was founded in 1846 as the Second Infantry Regiment of Minnesota. The regiment served until 1852, when it was redesignated the First Infantry Regiment of Minnesota. In 1865, the regiment was disbanded and its members were re-designated as the Seventh Cavalry Regiment of Minnesota. The Seventh Cavalry Regiment served until 1907, when it was disbanded again and its members were re-designated as the Fifth Infantry Regiment of Minnesota. The brigade became known as Task Force 51st at Normandy on D-Day and fought in various battles including Iwo Jima and Okinawa. After World War II ended, the brigade returned to America in 1946 and became components of VII Corps under General George Sperry’s command. On October 1, 1957, IX Corps was created from elements of VII Corps and First Brigade Combat TeamMinnesota National Guard with headquarters located at Minneapolis during exercises called “Conversations on a New Battlefield” which simulated an Invasion by North Korea against South Korea or China should hostilities break out between those two nations (the exercise). On November 5th that year Major General Leslie Jenson relieved General Sperry after five years with IX Corps having no operational units following activation due to budget cuts that had occurred since his predecessor’s departure from command (Jenson being replaced by Lieutenant Colonel John Ritchie who would serve for three years). American forces invaded North Korea on December 25th 1945 which resulted in an armistice Agreement being signed resulting in over 60 thousand Koreans dead including more than twenty thousand Americans killed (the Korean War ended with an armistice Agreement on July 27th 1948). A total cost to U.S taxpayers amounting to $50 billion dollars has been incurred since 1950 alone (Unexplained Wealth Review Board Report No.(2)).

Prior Lake is a small town in Grant County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 338 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Duluth–Superior, MN Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village of Prior Lake was founded by European Americans on July 3, 1857, during the Dakota War of 1862. The first post office was established in Prior Lake on November 1, 1857. In 1872, prior to statehood and the creation ofGrant County, Prior Lake had a population of 226 people. In 1902-1903, prior to statehood and the creation ofGrant County there were no schools in Prior Lake; residents educated themselves by reading religious tracts or works from home. In 1903 one school opened in Prior Lake which servedgrades K-8th grade until 1938 when it closed because Ofqual discontinued funding for public schools in Duluth due to budget cuts necessitated by World War II. In 1907-1908 there were two more schools open in Prior Lake; one serving grades 9-12th grade and another serving grades 7-12th grade but both closed after only one year due to lack of enrollment growth and financial instability caused by high tuition rates for private school students attending those same schools across Duluth (and other nearby communities). In 1916Prior lake had its first post office which served as an annex for Superior at that time also serviceeing township residents with mail from Superior through what is now Franklin Avenue south west to US Highway 29 east then north along US Highway 29 back into Superior where it met up with mail coming from Grand Forks via Sanford Road then turning southeast on Sanford Road towards Grand Forks before meeting up with mail coming out of Fargo via Hennepin Street east into Minneapolis proper
Prior Lake was named for Colonel John Prior, an early settler in the area. The town of Prior Lake was platted in 1854 and became a census-designated place in 1961.
