Mounds View is a small town in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 2,824 at the 2010 census. It lies on the edge of the Iron Range and isadjacent to the city of Dodge City. The first Europeans to visit Mounds View were French fur traders in 1785. The town was named for one of these traders, Pierre-Joseph de Môle (1728–1803), who had been dispatched by Governor Alexander Graham Bell to survey land in what is nowMinnesota. In 1851, Mounds View became part of Dodge City when that city was organized from parts of seven surrounding townships. Mound Builders Mounds View was founded about 1800 by people from eastern Canada who came overland through Manitoba and Dakota Territory on their way to explore new lands west of the Great Lakes. They built mounds here because they thought such structures might indicate where buried treasures could be found. By 1840, there were more than fifty mounds in Mound View Township alone; many more have been discovered since then! In 1881, a group of Methodist ministers led by Reverend Cyrus Eaton traveled through northern Minnesota looking for a place to build a church proper and happened on an area near present-day Mound View that had been abandoned due to lack of water supply and other problems. Reverend Eaton decided that this would be a perfect spot for his church, which he called Stonewall Presbyterian Church—the first mainline Protestant church in America! The congregation soon added other buildings including a schoolhouse and cemetery before finally constructing their own brick building in 1886. Today’s building is one of only two remaining examples from those earliest years! Although most residents are Baptists today (a minority branch), Rev Temple does lead services at Stonewall Presbyterian Church every weeknight except during special events like Easter or Christmas—an exampleof how community involvement continues into our modern era! Mounds View is a town in northeast Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,848 at the 2010 census. Mounds View was founded in 1851 by David Dinky and his brother-in-law John Stevens as a farming community on the eastern edge of what is now Minneapolis. The area now comprising Mounds View was first settled by the Menominee Nation in the late 1830s, and part of its land became part of Minneapolis after the city's incorporation in 1856. Mounds View began to grow rapidly during the early 1800s as farmers imported American corn from Illinois to feed their livestock. In 1851, David Dinky and John Stevens founded Mounds View as a farming community on what is now Northeast Side Street between Lyndale Avenue and Hopkins Road. By 1870, when it had a population of 2,500 people, Mumps Point (a small bay near present-day Interstate 94) had been developed into an anchorage for vessels sailing upriver to Duluth on Lake Superior. The Village Board leased land at Mumps Point for grain storage beginning in 1876; this lease continues today. In 1893–94, Minneapolis established its first public high school – Central High School – within two blocks of Mumps Point; this location allowed students from nearby villages to attend school together rather than having to walk or take buses to different schools in downtown Minneapolis

The first settlers were Methodists who built their homes around the hillock. In 1872, Mounds View became part of the new county of Dakota and was incorporated as a town. It experienced rapid growth during World War II because of the military base it housed at Fort Snelling. After the war, Mounds View slowed down but maintains its current level of development.
