The Mendota Heights Marina is a historic district in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. It encompasses 84 acres (30 ha) of land and includes the now closed Mendota Heights Pier. The area was developed from 1885 to 1915 as part of a plan to create a commercial center for the town. It was named after Admiral David Dixon Morton, famous for his role in the American Revolution and Commodore John Rodgers, who built the first military post in Dakota Territory. Mendota Heights Pier opened on May 12, 1919 as one of three piers served by the Minneapolis-St.Paul Marine Terminal. The pier was used primarily for fishing and served as an important stop on the Great Lakes shipping route during World War I and II. In 1973, it was transferred to the city of Minneapolis and became part of City Park.

After the war, the town declined and its population fell to 515 by 2000.
