Maple Grove Coffee History began in 1915 when a Mr. and Mrs. Gopher founded the first coffee shop in the town of Maple Grove. The couple, who were natives of Sweden, started out small and sold coffee by hand to local residents on their farmstead. In 1916, they opened a second store in downtown Maple Grove and soon became well-known within the community for their unique blend of Swedish-style roasted beans with Americana flavors. By 1921, they had also opened a third store in Stonington, Minnesota. Throughout its history, Maple Grove Coffee has been consistently popular for its great taste, quality products, and low prices. Today, there are at least 11 stores located throughout Minnesota selling our delicious beans!

Maple Grove is a town in Clearwater County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,595 at the 2010 census. Maple Grove is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The first white people to live in what is now Maple Grove were ferried over from Hennepin County by steamboat on May 2, 1851. The town was platted on November 3, 1853 by John Davenport and James Gamble. The name of the original post office was "Milford". A store and two homes were built in the early years of Maple Grove; both are still standing today. In 1861, when Minnesota became a state, it included portions of Clearwater County and set aside land for a new town named Maple Grove on the site of an old fur trading post which had been abandoned since 1840. On January 24, 1865, the community's charter was granted by Gov. James Shields and approved by the territorial legislature; it became an incorporated village on April 6 that year under the name "Maple Grove Township". On July 8, 1870, a millrace called “The Gopher” (now Main Street) burst into life after freeze-thaw action caused water levels to rise above normal upstream from nearby farms raising ground level water tables so suddenly that men working in surrounding cornfields could not get down to their machines quickly enough to stop machinery damage and loss of crop yields; this event helped promptMinnesota State legislators to pass legislation creating Clearwater County as its own entity with its own government including mills & roads needed for trade with other counties within MN (& St Paul). maple Grove, Minnesota is a small town in central Minnesota. The population was 693 at the 2010 census. It is the Seeley County seat and the home of Maple Grove Memorial Library. The first settlement in what is now Maple Grove was made by Norwegian farmers around 1867. By 1916, there were 198 residents in the town. Maple Grove Post Office opened on July 1, 1916, and remained open until it closed on October 15, 1971. A fire destroyed most of the village in 1917; however, with help from local volunteers and donations from individuals and businesses, rebuild took place quickly. The original post office building still stands today as part of the Maple Grove Museum Complex. Maple Grove has been a center for education and culture throughout its history; its multiple public schools have educated many of Minnesota's top leaders such as Congressman Jesse Lassen and Governor Emeritus Arne Carlson. In recent years, maple grove has seen an increase in development due to its location adjacent to Interstate 75 - making it a popular tourist spot for those interested in learning more about early 20th century Minneapolis-St Paul culture or Vikings history.
