Gun gift history in Golden Valley, Minnesota began with the purchase of a revolver on November 3, 1885. It was the first gun purchased in Golden Valley. The purchaser was Simeon P. Haughey, who would own and operate the first store in town. The revolver was given to his son-in-law Andrew L. Jacks, Sr., who would become the first mayor of Golden Valley. The next gun to be purchased in Golden Valley was a Winchester rifle on December 4, 1886. This rifle was used by Andrew L jacks Jr., who served as the mayor from 1906 to 1912. In 1911, another gun was bought in Golden Valley; this time it was an Iver Johnson Rifle. The rifle would be used by James A Whitehead and his family for many years until it ultimately went into storage and passed away in 1984. In 1913, another Iver Johnson Rifle was purchased in Golden Valley; this time it was used by George W Smith for many years until he eventually passed away in 1978. Additionally, a shotgun were purchased on November 3rd of that year; this shotgun would serve as the foundation for future purchases throughout town’s history. On January 1st of 1915 (the date that World War I began), Mayor Jacks donated a Thompson submachinegun to the city of Minneapolis so that its residents could protect themselves during wartime hostilities. On July 26th of 1922 (just over a century after he had donated his firearm to Golden Valley), Mayor Jacks donated another Thompson submachinegun to Great Falls National Battlefield Park so that local residents could again defend themselves against potential aggression from outside sources at this important location within their community – not only during wartime but also through peacetime times as well! It is interesting to note that there have been no less than six different individuals or families have owned and operated either of the two aforementioned stores withinGoldenValley since they opened their doors back on November 3rd of 1885! Golden Valley is a small town in south-central Minnesota, United States. The population was 551 at the 2010 census. The name is derived from the gold that was found there in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The town began to form in 1892 when farmers moved into what is now Golden Valley from other parts of the state. Today, Golden Valley is a bedroom community for downtown Minneapolis. The area that makes up today's Golden Valley had been inhabited by Native Americans for centuries before white settlers arrived. In 1827, Andrew Jackson appointed Major General Philip Hennepin as commander of Indian Affairs in Dakota Territory and ordered him to drive the Sioux out of what is now Golden Valley and eastern South Dakota. The military operation failed and the Sioux were allowed to stay. When Hennepin left Prairie du Chien in 1829, he scouted out land for a new settlement on Upper Mississippi River near present-day Anoka–Mankato. He named his new settlement after Colonel George Averill, who had commanded an expedition against the Sioux during the Black Hawk War (1835–39). Dakota Territory was created on July 16, 1830 when Ulysses S. Grant became president of the United States following his inauguration victory over James Ketchum at Forts Harrison and Stroudsburg in November 1829. On October 10, 1830, Dakota Territory consisted of all present-day Minnesota except for about 4 miles (6 km) north of Hibbing along Lake Superior; this area was part of Canada until it joined Mexico as part of Manifest Destiny during Reconstruction era (1868–1912). When Dakota Territory was organized into counties on February 14, 1861 — three years after Minnesota became a state—the northwest half of Hibbing Township east of Big Muddy Creek was included within Champion County while sections between Big Muddy Creek and Hibbing eastward were split off as Additown County including much today's western Twin Cities neighborhood called "Upper Nobles." In 1862 Leonard Coleman registered 650 acres (248 ha) adjoining what is now GoldenValley with $5 per acre ($50 total), presumably intending to grant it away through homesteading program under which land could be acquired free if claimed within five years by someone who erected a cabin or cultivated crops on it; only one claimant received encouragement to build: John Prentice Sr., who filed lottery tickets winning 640 acres (252 ha) northeast corner lot #1 dated August 25th 1865 but never built due to lack funds & sold interest backdated toJuly 1st 1863 also known as Lot 7 & 8 according to deed poll book entry #14782 pg 54
Golden Valley was founded in 1868 by Norwegian immigrants. The valley is named for the golden sandstone that is found there. The town was incorporated in 1907 and has since grown to become a major center for agriculture and commerce in the area.
