Faribault, Minnesota is a small town in the U.S. state of Minnesota and the county seat of Hennepin County. The population was 5,023 as of the 2010 census. It is located on the southern shore of Lake Minnetonka, about 20 miles (32 km) southeast of Minneapolis-St. Paul and about 35 miles (56 km) northeast of Duluth. The name "Faribault" comes from French for "place where cows are milked." The village was platted in 1851 by entrepreneurs James Worthy and John Niven, who named it after General David Faribault, an early settler in what is now Hennepin County. Early settlers included Rasmus Dahlgren, Johannes Lofstrom, Ole Sverdrup and others. In 1872 Faribault became one of the townships in Ramsey County; it remained so until its abolition in 1908. In 1870 Faribault had 1 store and 8 residents; by 1910 it had 2 stores and 12 residents. The first school opened in 1875; by 1920 it had 10 students and 3 teachers. Methodist missionaries arrived here in 1902 to proselytize for Christianity among Native Americans; they founded a church which remains active today with over 100 attendees each Sunday morning services across 4 campuses: Resurrection Lutheran Church (F), First Baptist Church (F), Highland Presbyterian Church (P) , Sioux Falls United Methodist Church (U). There were also a few schools run by private individuals throughout the years including Oneida Schoolhouse #5 at 601 E Main Street between 1907-1911 when that building burned down due to arson but no one was charged because both school grades were held inside at that time according to records kept by township officials until 1952 when either demolition or renovation began on that building resulted in its current use as an apartment complex known as Oneida Manor today! Additionally there was briefly a school known as Excelsior School before it closed abruptly due to low enrollment around 1915-16 although some evidence suggests this may have been related to World War I servicemember relocation issues or simply budget cutting rather than any instructional wrongdoing! Finally from 1906-1915 there was also an Evangelical Lutheran Congregationalist church changes location 3 times during this time period between Maple Grovewood Road north then south then east again finally west which would eventually lead to construction of Forest Park Cemetery which covered most of what is now downtown Faribault along with numerous other rural cemetery projects undertaken during this time including erection/construction/maintenance/maintaining single family homesVarious businesses located within walking distance such as hardware store(s), bakery(s), grocery store(s), post office, Tire & Rubber Store etc., all serving customers directly or through their respective delivery services makes living here relatively easy despite being quite remote from most major population centers although several large institutional employers like State University - Stroudsburg offer extensive educational opportunities within minutes' drive or less while still providing ample employment opportunities outside local government jobs markets should normalcy persist

Faribault, Minnesota is a small town in the state of Minnesota. The population was 997 at the 2000 census. It is located in the southwest corner of Ramsey County. The name Faribault comes from French meaning "a place where there are woods" or "a wooded region". The town was founded in 1881 by father and son George and John Faribault. The first store was built on First Street in 1886. In 1912, the Second Industrial Revolution began in America with new technologies that led to new businesses being born such as automobiles and receivers for telegraph lines. This change created a need for jobs and people started moving to Faribault to find work. By 1920, business had grown so much that three stores were opened on Third Street in addition to two churches which served as schools until 1957 when they were moved to nearby Eden Prairie. The population of Faribault reached 1,000 by 1930 but it declined rapidly during World War II due to the war effort. It rebounded after the war though due to increased agricultural production which helped create many jobs along with an influx of refugees from Europe who immigrated intoMinnesota during that time period In 1970, voters approved Proposition 172 giving residents the right to form their own municipalities within Ramsey County without having to go through county government In 1984, citizens passed a resolution expressing support for annexing neighboring counties Hennepin and Nicollet into Ramsey County making it easier for businesses and people living near those counties to get services such as transportation and water . After years of discussion over whether or not annexation would happen, it finally happened on November 3rd of that year when portions of Hennepin County including Minneapolis were annexed into Ramsey County while Nicollet remained separate Since then, growth has been limited only by population growth rather than annexation attempts because both Hennepin County (formerly Nicollet) and Nicollet have experienced rapid economic growth since incorporation while Ramsgate Township continues its slow but steady decline . However, there are plans underway by some members of the community interested in annexing neighboring townships including Maplewood ( adjacent Stroudsburg) , Cottonwood Heights ( adjacent Park Rapids ), Iron Mountain ( adjacent Hibbing )and even White Bear Lake( adjacent Steele City ). These proposals are still under consideration because although Ramsgate Township has seen steady decline over recent years it remains one of the most rural areas within Ramsey County .
