The Coast Guard was founded on December 12, 1915, in Eagan, Minnesota. The first Coast Guard unit was organized and activated in the town of Muskegon Heights. The Coast Guard’s mission is to protect the maritime interests of the United States by providing coastal security and disaster relief. Today, the Coast Guard has over 30,000 employees who serve through five organizations: the National Sea Grant program; Joint Operations Command; Maritime Security Forces; Southern Command; and North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The history of coast guard gift history in Eagan begins with World War I when America declared war on Germany for its crossing of Belgium borders into Europe. This event is memorialized by a $10 gold coin that was donated to the American Red Cross by Dr. Frederick Ladd from Muskegon Heights. This donation helped support American efforts during World War I and continues to be appreciated today. In 1922, a ship called “Edith” was donated to the Coast Guard by Mrs. Edwin Morrison from Muskegon Heights after her husband became disabled during World War I as a result of shell shock effects caused by combat operations in France and Belgium. From 1922-1929, donations were made monthly to help finance new ships for service with the Coast Guard including this Edith Ship Donation Program which continued until 1936 when donations stopped due to budget cuts within the Coastguard organization). In 1937, an Act Of Congress created Headquarters at Fort Worth, Texas which would manage all aspects of Naval Aviation within U S waters including providing personnel and equipment for shore defense activities off California coastline as well as providing training opportunities for future naval aviators across America (this Headquarters would later become known as Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton). After years of planning it was announced on November 16th 1941 that George Washington Carrier Strike Group #3 would be deployed from San Diego Bay area to attack Japanese forces at Midway Atoll via carrier landings followed by air strikes against enemy installations ashore (this Carrier Strike Group would later become known as USS Enterprise). These actions led directly to World War II where America joined forces with Great Britain, Canada and Australia in order provide military assistance for their allies against Axis forces located throughout Europe (these events are commemorated annually through Memorial Day weekend ceremonies hosted at various locations around America)). After more than two years deployment GRCS 3 arrived off Hawaii on July 24th 1942 under Rear Admiral Halsey’s command just days after Japan had capitulated following its surrender at Pearl Harbor (Rear Admiral Halsey is also responsible for creating Operation Overlord Plan which determined how Allied Forces should move forward pursuant to surrender terms). During these months GRCS 3 conducted numerous campaigns totaling more than 2 million miles covering an entire island chain including attacks on Kwajalein Atoll、Eniwetok Atoll、Marshall Islands 、Nauru Island etc.) It is interesting to note that many boats belonging to this Carrier Strike Group served multiple tours throughout World War II before being disposed or given back upto Admiralty Service after hostilities ended (e.g., USS Yorktown(CV-6)), USS Santa Fe(AGM-41), USS Constitution(BB-44) etc.). Once hostilities ceased Commodore Harry Dyer assumed command of GRCS 3 effective September 15th 1945 which included responsibility for operations along Hawaiian Island areas plus Guam/Tinian Peninsula Campaign where approximately 140 vessels participated)..

Eagan, Minnesota is a city in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The population was 57,715 at the 2010 census. Eagan is home to the Mayo Clinic and other large medical institutions as well as many smaller businesses and organizations. It is bordered by Stroudsburg to the east, Lakeville to the south and west, and Prior Lake to the north. The first settlers in what would become Eagan arrived in 1855 from Holland via steamboat on the Mississippi River. The town was named for John Aiken, who had purchased 2,000 acres (800 hectares) of land in 1851 from David Thompson for $5 per acre. In 1860s a group of businessmen started a cotton gin and textile mill called Egan & Co., which became one of the most important economic engines during that time period. During World War I local war hero George Armstrong Custer served in France with an American Expeditionary Force unit before returning Stateside where he organized and led an armored cavalry brigade during World War I; this earned him nickname "the Custer of 1918". In 1939 prominent dentist Drs Annandale Kapp and Harry Ferguson merged their practices into Kapp-Ferguson Dental Corporation which still owns its original building on Main Street today (though it has been remodeled several times). The merger allowed Kapp-Ferguson to grow rapidly into one of North America's leading dental chain companies with over 1,500 locations across North America including more than 400 clinics in Canada alone! For almost 50 years Drs Annandale Kapp & Harry Ferguson have helped people everywhere smile with beautiful teeth!
The Coast Guard gift history goes back to 1796 when a group of officers from New York City donated a boat, the Samuel Adams, to be used as a coast guard vessel. This was the first time that the Coast Guard had been formed and it was soon realized that there were many needs for such an organization. One of these needs was a dock to store vessels, so in 1806, the New York State Legislature created the United States Coast Guard. The first Commandant of the Coast Guard was Captain John Fitch and he served from 1807-1816. From this point on, most commands went through rotating commanders until 1821 when Commodore James Kapp took over command and held it until his death in 1836. In 1847, Congress passed an act which provided for construction of shacks at Governors Island to store ships and provide berths for men and supplies. In 1850, Congress authorized construction of two more coastal guard vessels – the Constitution (later renamed USS Constitution) and USS Trenton (later USS George Washington). These ships were built by Bureau of Ordnance engineers under contract with private enterprise. The first ship completed was Constitution in November 1850; Trenton followed in January 1851. During World War II, Coast Guardsmen played a vital role in Protecting American shores by providing maritime security throughout North America including blockade runner operations against Germany during WWII as well as air support during Battle of Okinawa. As part of our commemoration program we are honoring coast guard service members who have made sacrifices during this time period with commemorative medals and other special items enjoyed by their families today!

Eagan is a city in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area, and is the seat of Ramsey County. The population was 51,539 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1871 by Norwegian immigrants as a farm town on the west side of the Minnesota River. In 1926, Eagan became an incorporated city and then a rural municipality before becoming a city in 1998. The history of Eagan began with Norwegian immigrants who arrived in 1871 as part of what is known as the Great Migration from Norway to America. They were among the first groups of refugees to arrive in American shores, and soon set about building their new lives here. The early settlers were farmers who grew crops and raised livestock near what is now downtown Eagan. The growth of Eagan can be traced back to two factors: its location on the west bank of the Minnesota River and its close proximity to other towns and villages on either side of it. In 1925, when Ramsey County was created from parts of Stroudsburg Township on the east side of Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Eagan became one of its first municipalities. From then until 1998, when it merged into City Hall Park District #2 (CHPD#2), it operated administratively as a separate entity within CHP#2 - subordinate only to City Hall itself within that larger jurisdiction. However, because county government had been moved from downtown Minneapolis toRamsey County’s largest city center during that time period - including much later suburban annexations within CHP#2 - there has never been any real disconnection between municipal offices inside City Hall Park District #2 & County government outside thereof; although some formal continuity may have developed over time due primarily to staff shuffling across jurisdictional boundaries following mergers between various agencies or divisions within CHP#2." During its formative years, Egan experienced many challenges unique for frontier settlements such as dirt roads not being available yet or being too difficult for wagon trains transporting goods upriver; however these challenges were overcome through hard work and perseverance over time. One such example is how Mayor John Hargrave organized Volunteer fire departments throughout his township which helped prevent major fires from taking hold during those early days even when health conditions weren't ideal for firefighters living near abandoned buildings or smoldering woods! This type initiative would become common throughout rural Minnesota during this time period thanks largely to volunteerism which would continue unabated long after municipal governments could finally build proper facilities! Today's community owes much bothto their pioneer ancestors who left behind definitive memories & alsoto recent arrivals & newcomers alike who have made so much progress making our town easier than ever before!
