In 1916, the Hershey's moved to 104th Avenue South and started selling coffee from a small roaster that they bought from an Italian immigrant. By 1918, the company had grown sufficiently to open their own warehouse and roast their own beans. In 1929, the Hershey's merged with two other businesses to become Minneapolis Coffee Company (MCC). MCC continued to sell coffee until it went out of business in 1971. The last cup of Joe was roasted at MCC in 1976.
Coon Rapids, Minnesota is a small town in southern Minnesota. The population was 1,146 at the 2010 census. It lies along the banks of the Coon River and is bordered by South Dakota to the south and east, Iowa to the north, and Blue Earth County to the west.
