The Champlin National Guard was organized on December 3, 1892. It was the first national guard organization in Minnesota. The Champlin National Guard was initially composed of men from the city of Champlin and surrounding villages. The original purpose of the military organization was to provide law enforcement and protection for the people in that area. In 1916, Minnesota became a state and the national guard organizations were dissolved. However, the Champlin National Guard continued to exist as a volunteer force until 1951 when it was disbanded again because of budgetary cuts. Today, there is still a small portion of the Champlin National Guard which performs various tasks such as providing security for events or areas within the community.

Champlin is a small town in the state of Minnesota. The population was 751 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Saint Paul–Bloomington, MN Metropolitan Statistical Area. Champlin is located on the eastern edge of Ramsey County and has a total area of just over one square mile (.36 sq km). The first European settlers in what is now Champlin were Frenchmen who arrived in 1782. They named their new village after Jean-Jacques Champlain, an officer with the French forces during the Seven Years' War (1756-1763). In 1824, Danish immigrants settled here also and this led to the name being anglicized to Champlin in 1829. The original post office was established in 1857 and changed its name to Champlin twice before it became permanent as Post Office No. 2 in 1865. Champlin's mercantile district was well known for its fine flourishes including harvested wheat that would be ground into flour for baking goods throughout much of America during this time period; local cheese from buffalo milk; and lumber from virgin forested land which would be cut down and delivered to town by wagonload. During World War II, many residents worked at various munitions plants within commuting distance such as Duluth Arsenal, then called "the Big 3". The sharp decline in population around 1990 led to a large increase in vacant lots until 2004 when developers began purchasing them back for development as mixed-use acres or single family homes with garages available on site. Today, most residents work outside the community but there are still several businesses open and active here including a grocery store, post office, convenience store and barber shop/shampoo salon (among others). There are also several small parks located within walking distance providing opportunities for daytrips by foot or bike while keeping things lively enough that locals can come out every so often without feeling too intimated or left out.
The National Guard has a long and varied history. The unit was first organized on July 4, 1775, when the Continental Congress created the Continental Army to help fight against British forces. The Guard was not initially a national army but rather a militia regiment. On November 15, 1780, president George Washington made the Guard an independent corps of the National guard. On September 10, 1812, president John Quincy Adams signed into law the Organic Act of 1812 which created the United States Military Academy at West Point as America’s first military academy. From this time until 1861 when it became Confederate Army Academy (a merged organization), West Point served as America’s only military institution for young men. This event is significant because it marked the beginning of American education for boys in general and for future generals and admirals in particular. In addition to its role as an academic institution,West Point also played an important role during World War II by providing training for both American soldiers and airmen assigned to various theaters of war. In 1945, after years of planning and construction work, West Point opened its doors to students once more-this time as a school dedicated exclusively to officer training called USMLE (United States Military League). Today USMLE offers students rigorous military education that prepares them for positions such as lieutenant colonel or even captain in any branch of service!

Champlin was founded in 1871 by John Champlin and his wife, Jane. It is the oldest town in Minnesota and one of the most populous. The Champlins were originally from Vermont. They had two children, John and Nancy. The Champlins eventually moved to Minnesota and built a home on the east side of town. In 1906, they donated land for a high school which became Champlin High School. The population of Champlin peaked at over 10,000 in 1920 but then declined slightly until it reached 7,500 in 1940. However, during World War II, the population increased to over 20,000 due to their involvement with the military. After the war ended, the population decreased again until it reached 5,500 in 2000. Since then, it has slowly regained its former size and status as a small community with a strong agricultural tradition.
Champlin was founded in 1853 by John A. Champlin and his brother, Nicholas Champlin. The Champlins were a family of farmers who also operated a lumberyard. The Champlins donated land to the town in 1881, and the first post office was established in 1882. In 1916, the town went through a name change to Deer Lodge after its founder's daughter married into the Deer Lodge family. In 1951, the town became part of Minnesota.
