Maga coffee beans were first roasted on the property of Champlin Coffee in 1916. The original coffee was grown on a small farm located southeast of town. In 1922, the Champlin Coffee Company moved their roast to a new and larger facility just northwest of town. The company continued to grow and roast Maga beans until they ceased production in 1969. Today, there are several small-scale farms that still produce Maga coffee beans. These farms typically grow about 2,000 pounds of beans per acre and sell their products through local retailers and cafés throughout the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The flavor profile of these beans is often very similar to that of the original Champlin Coffee blend, but it has been tweaked over time to reflect modern tastes and preferences.

In 1892, a man named Fredrick Schultz started purchasing beans from an Ethiopian roaster in Illinois. He sold them door-to-door and began to distribute them throughout the Midwest. In 1924, Schultz opened his first store in Minneapolis and began selling maga coffee. The drink became very popular among Minnesotans and was soon represented by several other stores across the state.

Champlin is a town in Pipestone County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 2,992 at the 2010 census. The community is named after Major General George Armstrong Custer. Champlin was organized on February 14, 1875 and incorporated as a city on March 3rd of that year.

Champlin is a small town in eastern Minnesota, United States. The population was 597 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Duluth–Superior–Mankato Metropolitan Statistical Area. Champlin was first settled by Mennonites in 1882 and has been an agricultural community since then. In 1907, the Champlin post office was established, and it remained in operation until it closed in 1970. The town's only store, which closed in 1984, served as its only source of food for residents until they started to truck their groceries into nearby Duluth. Today, most of the town's businesses are located within a two-mile radius of the village center. The Champlin School District serves all of Champlin and portions of Superior Township and Superior Township including parts of neighboring townships. There have been no school closures in recent years due to budget cuts or other issues; however, there are plans to close one school if enrollment does not increase significantly over the next five years. In addition to its educational opportunities, Champlin also includes a variety of cultural events each year that include arts shows and concerts as well as family reunions and Fourth Of July celebrations. One such event is called "Festival On The Green" which features local artisans producing traditional crafts onsite during the summer months.

Champlin was a small town in Minnesota until the early 20th century. It is now part of Winona. The first post office in Champlin was established on July 3, 1876. The name of the town, which means 'peaceful retreat,' was chosen because it was one of the few places where people could be free from political unrest and find peace and tranquility. In 1907, Champlin merged with neighboring towns Twin Lakes and White Earth in order to form a new city government. The merger caused some tension between the different communities, but it ultimately worked out well. During World War II, Champlin served as an airfield for military operations over Minnesota. After the war ended, many residents left for various reasons including high prices for housing and low job opportunities during peacetime. However, some stayed to rebuild what had been lost.
