When the United States Army was founded in 1802, it was composed of only a few troops. By 1861, the army had grown to over 100,000 men and women. The gift history of the Wyandotte Army National Guard is reflective of this growth. The first military unit in Wyandotte was an artillery battalion formed in 1810. This unit served in the War of 1812 and then garrisoned at Fort St. Joseph on the Michigan River until 1814 when it moved to fort Gibson on the Maumee River. In 1816, an infantry brigade was organized and served in eastern Michigan during the Second Seminole War before disbanding in 1817 due to lack of recruits. In 1840, a regiment of cavalry was organized and served as part of General Andrew Jackson’s army during his march from Memphis to Washington D.C.. The regiment disbanded three years later upon its return home because there were not enough horses for its size. In 1861, an artillery battery (1st Regiment) was organized at Wyandotte and service began that year against Confederate forces along with other artillery units across western Michigan. During World War II, Wyandotte also played host to various Allied airfields including Big Rock Airfield which became operational on December 1, 1941; Dyess Airfield which became operational on February 17th 1945; Belle Isle Naval Hospital which became operational on October 15th 1945; as well as two tank brigades located at nearby Ashtabula County experimental site known as Camp Gates (now North Park Elementary School).

The Wyandotte County Militia was organized on July 1, 1836. The first regiment was called the 2nd Regiment Michigan Volunteer Infantry and it was raised in 1835 from Wyandotte County residents. On November 10, 1846, the 2nd Regiment Michigan Volunteer Infantry was mustered into service for three years and six months at Lansing. It did not participate in the war. In 1861, the state of Michigan seceded from the United States and formed its own government. The regiment served until 1865 when it disbanded at Fort Erie.
Wyandotte, Michigan is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and the county seat of Wayne County. The population was 26,735 at the 2010 census. The city is part of the Detroit Metropolitan Area. It is bordered by Grand Rapids to the north, Clinton Township to the east, Elmira to the south, and Muskegon Heights to the west. The first Wyandotte settlement was established in 1824 on land donated by Nicholas Wright and others near what is now Wyandotte University Park in Grand Rapids Township. By 1840, Wyandotte had a population of 220 people and an academy teaching agriculture and mechanics. In 1846, George Stephenson donated land for a new capital on which Wyandotte would be built; this became Woodward City (now Detroit). The original courthouse was destroyed by fire in 1863 but was replaced with a much larger one that still stands today on Third Street between State Street and Woodward Avenue. In 1879, Justice John Marshall Harlan delivered the keynote address at a national meeting of agriculturalists organized by James Gadsden under auspices of President Rutherford B Hayes. This event markedthe beginning of heavy industry in what would later become Wyandotte while also initiating early Urban Renewal efforts hereabouts including moves into retailing as well as downtown redevelopment over several decades through various partnerships with private interests including Ford Motor Company (then called Dearborn), General Motors Corporation (then known as GMAC), Chrysler Corporation (later DaimlerChrysler AG) among others In 1926, Wyandotte merged with neighboring Gratiot Township forming what remains one of America's most populous urban agglomerations – home to more than 1 million residents within its borders at any given point in time – housing both commercial districts as well as many municipalities totaling over 10 000 residents each: Muskegon Heights/Grandville Community School District (#1), Washtenaw Community School District (#2), Arabella Township Civic League #3 #4a #5b #6c #7d #8e #9a#10b etc., Highland Village Municipal Association (Ft Hollandale) & Northland Borough School Districts(Hollis Woods/Lansing Hills/Warren Hills etc.), making it one largest school district operating within city limits today! An amendment passed by voters en masse via referendum on November 3rd 2003 increased charter schools enrollment from 20% up to 30%. The previous year saw Charter Schools Incorporate all Pre-Kindergarten thru 12th grade students from surrounding villages Ofleeceburg & Warrensburg together making them "one big school". With special needs considerations becoming increasingly important due to demographic changes throughout our community we now have "Wyndowte Specialty Charter Schools" open 6am-3pm Mon-Fri for kids who need help starting off their day regardless Of family income or resources

This increased the size and firepower of an army which in turn made it easier for governments to control them. As armies became more complex, they also became more expensive to maintain and fund. This led to many wars being fought over resources which in turn contributed to their high casualty rates (often described as “the bloodiest conflict in human history”). As technology improved, so too did armies become easier and cheaper to operate than ever before- though this hasn’t always been without its controversies! For example, during World War I there was much debate about whether airplanes could actually fight alongside tanks or not- ultimately proving themselves compatible but very costly both tactically and financially! Additionally, many times advances in technology have led to changes in how soldiers are trained or equipped- such as using armoured vehicles instead of horses for transport or using machineguns rather than pistols for shooting purposes! Wyandotte is a small town in the Macomb county, Michigan area that was founded in 1824. The town has a population of just over 1,000 people as of the 2010 census. Wyandotte is located on the western border of Macomb County and is bordered by Dearborn to the south and east, St Joseph to the north, and Sterling Heights to the west. There are no incorporated municipalities within Wyandotte Township or any other municipal areas within Macomb County; all village/township boundaries are unicameral. The first settler in Wyandotte was John Pritchard who arrived in 1824 with his family from Southwark, England. John's father had come over with General Washington during the War for Independence and he started a farm near what is now known as Pritchard Road in what is today part of downtown Wyandotte. John's older brother William also settled in this area and built a cabin near present day Park Avenue and State Street. The first school building in Wyandotte was built on White Street between Maple Avenue (now Elm) Lane and School Road around 1830-1831 by Andrew Fenton who taught school there until 1840 when he moved to nearby Dearborn. In 1845 two brothers named Griggs purchased land adjoining Fenton's school property which they used for farming until 1850 when they built a gristmill on creek flowing through their property which served as their primary source of income until 1870 when they sold their holdings to Alexander McNamara who became one of the early settlers at large on Land Bank #2 (later renamed Farmington Hills). As time passed more people began moving into this area including furriers such as Nicholas Halkett and his son David Halkett, farmers such as Peter Jennings, Elijah Browning, Solomon Northup, James Dixon etc., builders such as George Stephenson etc., some working for McNamara while others self-starter like Alexander Henderson worked various aspects of community development like construction management Hzpts & Mgrs homebuilding Mich Lumber Co
