The unit was originally called the "Warren Volunteer Infantry" and served as part of the Michigan National Guards during World War I. The unit was redesignated the "Warren Armoured Division" on November 3, 1918. The division was mustered out of service on December 15, 1919. On October 10, 1940, the Warren Army National Guard erected a monument to members of the unit who had lost their lives in World War II at Camp Dixon near Detroit.
Warren is a small town in the US state of Michigan. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Grand Rapids, Michigan Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Warren Township government is a municipal government with an elected township manager and four trustees. The first settler in what is now Warren Township was James Geddes, who arrived in 1824. Geddes named his land for John Quincy Adams, then the Vice President of the United States. In 1828, George Washington Woodward settled on this same tract and named it after himself. In 1829, Wm Fenton bought the section from James Geddes and moved to Warren Township with his family. Warren has been inhabited by humans since at least 9500 BC when Paleo-Indians lived hereabouts and may have traded with other groups such as the Huron people and Oneida people. The area was known as "Moccasin Mound" because of its abundance of moccasin (a type of fiber) shells which were found nearby during archaeological excavations conducted there in 1939–1940 by Drs Clarence Darrow and Harry Emerson Fosdick Jr.. There are several mounds or earthworks located around present-day Warren that date back to this time period including Moccasin mound No 3 which lies just east of I-94 on Old Route 66 about three miles north-northeast of downtown Grand Rapids; Moccasin mound No 2 located northwest of I-94 about two miles southwest of downtown Lansing; Pellston mound also located northwest of I-94 about one mile west-southwestof downtown Lansing; Gratiot mound located southeast from where I-294 intersects State Road 231 near Muskegon Heights; Schoenbaum pointmarker along State Road 231 near Muskegon Heights; White Cloud Pointmarker along State Road 231 near Muskegon Heights but these structures have not been completely documentaryially studied yet... These sites provide interesting evidence that early Native Americans frequented this part OF Michigan Territory." Some believe that early settlers were either Algonquin tribal members or Menominee tribe members who migrated downriver from Wisconsin during Ice Age glaciation some 10,000 years ago while others suggest that they may be related to European colonists who came through central Michigan during late prehistory or even earlier based on facial features common among both groups... DNA testing will continue to improve our understanding where Native American ancestry comes from." The first white person to live in what is now Warren Township was David Silliman who immigrated there in 1840 from New York City via Erie County, Pennsylvania.. He built a mill on the Milford River opposite modern day Plymouth Meeting village which he called "Silliman's Mills". Silliman later sold his interest in the mill to Hiram Morse who also operated it for a time before selling it again to John Ladd.. Ladd built another mill on Belle River opposite today's rural village called "Ladd's Mill". A third mill called "Hiram Morse & Company" operated locally until 1862 when it burned down due to fire damage caused by Indians led by Chief Little Eel Pieganiwinockenet.... By 1870 total enterprise amounting to $10,-WELLINGTON MILLING COMPANY had been established adjacent thereto producing flour & bacon for market place." During Prohibition days (1920s), Warren became so prohibitionist that some residents even refused entry into their community To enforce Prohibition laws they made themselves privy detectives..."

Grant became general of the United States Army after leading two successful campaigns against Mexico’s forces. Afterward, Grant directed Ulysses S. Grant's charge at Vicksburg during 1863's Union Invasion of Mississippi known as "the great defeat".
Warren, Michigan was a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan when it became an incorporated village on July 1, 1868. The population was 584 at the time of incorporation. The original town site was on the east side of the Kawkawtac River, about one mile from present-day Warren. It encompassed only a small area and consisted of just two dwellings and a few acres of land. A post office was established in 1869, but only served residents of the village itself. In 1870,village trustees voted to name their new community for Ulysses S. Grant, then President of the United States. The name “Warren” first appeared on official maps in 1875 as part of Rush (now Monroe) Township. In 1907,the village adopted its current name based upon General James Knox Warren’s donation of land to support it. During World War II, Warren saw some significant growth as its military base served as headquarters for aircraft manufacturing plants located in nearby Detroit and Flintshire coinciding with war production shortages within the United States due to wartime austerity measures instituted by President Franklin D. Roosevelt following his reelection victory in 1944). After the war ended in 1945, many factories closed down or relocated elsewhere while Warren continued to grow slowly until reaching a peak population size of 1,100 during 1960 census figures; however this rate began to decline rapidly thereafter culminating at just over 500 inhabitants by 2000 census figures
