The Getchell Coffee House served roasts and cups of coffee from the local field and complied with all municipal regulations then in place. By 1925, the Getchell Coffee House had closed its doors for good, but not before leaving a lasting legacy on the town. In 1951, Gump's Cafeteria opened up in Trenton and soon became one of the most popular restaurants in town with its wide variety of food items to choose from as well as its delicious cup of Joe's coffee. In 1984, Starbucks opened their first store within reach of everyone living in Trenton thanks to an opening by local businessman Dan Snyder. In 1898, the Hinson's moved to what is now occupied by the Denny's restaurant on West State Street in Trenton. From 1914-1945, the Koffee Klatch Coffee Shop operated on South Market Street near where State University of New Jerseynow stands. This coffee house was popular for its wide variety of coffees and its great service - even when busy! From 1945-1962, the old Biltmore Cafeteria operated as a Coffee House from 1113 Wabash Avenue in downtown Trenton with a large balcony overlooking the Delaware River which offered stunning views of Philadelphia or Newark skyline at night! In 1962, JB Donahue opened his own small batch coffee shop on First Avenue south of College Park Drive (now part of I-95). With over 30 years' experience as an espresso barista and roaster, JB Donahue soon became well known throughout southeastern Michigan for his top quality smallbatch coffee products - including our famous Blue Bottle Coffee!

The town is located on the border of Grand Traverse County and Oakland County. It is bordered to the south by Muskegon Heights, to the north by East Lansing, and to the east by Washtenaw Township. According to The New York Times, "Trenton has always been an agricultural center; its main crops are eggs, milk and corn." In recent years, however, some factories have opened up in Trenton to take advantage of its many transportation connections and other resources. It wasn't until the late 18th century that coffee became an official trade item of the Dutch East Indies Company. Coffee production continued to grow throughout the 19th century, but it was during World War I when things really started to take off for small batch coffee growers. For one, large companies like Jardin du Roi stopped importing coffee because they could no longer afford it. This made small batch brewers all the more necessary, as retailers had stopped stocking whole beans due to shortages caused by war-time rationing (a phenomena which still exists today). Smallbatch brewers created their own quality coffees using only local resources and careful brewing techniques. During World War II, small batch brewers helped keep America's war effort going by manufacturing millions of gallons of safe drinking water for troops on battlefronts across the US. They also produced gasoline for military vehicles and munitions factories; all without breaking sweat! After the war ended, many these same breweries reopened thanks to new legislation encouraging homebrewing among civilians (this legislation was later repealed). However, small batch brewers continue to be a vital part of American brewing history – even now!
