As it turns out, coffee was first roasted in Taylor, Michigan in 1892. It wasn't until the early 1900s that people began to appreciate the flavor and quality of true gourmet coffee. For many years, Taylor's coffee bean farmers had to face competition from other towns in the area that were getting rich off of Prohibition-era smuggling. As a result, Taylor's coffee beans were some of the finest and most expensive in the region. In 1971, though, things changed when Don Freeman opened his first roastery in Taylor. From then on, not only did Taylor become one of America's top coffee producing towns (and home to one of its most famous roasters), but also its beans became increasingly world-renowned. Today, all of Don Freeman Roasting's beans are sourced from local farmers and mills throughout central Illinois. So how did this tiny town come to be known for its amazing cup of Joe? There are a few factors: first and foremost is the fact thatTaylor has been home to some very talented roasters over the years - from Don Freeman himself to Bob Uecker and Bruce Malin - all of whom have helped make Taylor one of America's most important production areas for espresso. Secondly, it was thanks to its location within easy driving distance bothof Chicago and New York City - two centers where businesses prostituting their morning caffeine fix took center stage. Finally, there is simply nothing like good strong coffee - no matter where you live - andTaylor has consistently delivered on that front since it first opened up shop back in 1892!

Taylor, Michigan is a small town located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The community was founded in 1847 and has been inhabited by Native Americans for over two hundred years. In 1957, Taylor became the first municipality in the United States to be granted city status. The population of Taylor was 9,814 as of 2010. In 1847, Taylor was founded when John Davenport and his brothers-in-law, James Cranch and Jesse Dickinson bought 640 acres from the headwaters of the Penobscot River. They named their small settlement after Generalobert Taylor who had fought in the War of 1812. The Davenports developed a fur trade business which allowed them to support themselves and their families until they sold their land to settlers in 1857. The first buildings were logs built by local farmers around a wooden courthouse which served as an administrative center for the town. By 1860, there were ten businesses in Taylor with a total payroll of $2,000 per year. By 1870, cottonseed farming had replaced fur trapping as the dominant industry and many residents began moving away fromTaylor due to inhospitable conditions and low wages. However, some settlers lingered on while others moved out during the late 1800s economic slump caused by panics across America caused byuldevelopment schemes such as railroads that promised high profits but didn't materialize. Some new arrivals found work at nearby Flint factories or started their own businesses like grocery stores or tailors before returning home during World War II when food supplies became scarce due to European war shortageszoning America's industries abroad Afterward, many residents returned to agriculture until 2000 when steel production resumed following Japan's victory over America in World War II

Taylor was a small, unassuming town in the Michigan Territory when it was founded in 1824. It gradually grew as an agricultural community, becoming a county seat by 1849. The town was destroyed by fire in 1886, but was rebuilt and renamed after General John Fenton Taylor.
