The Air Force has been present in Romulus since World War II. The air force base was first established in 1940 and served as the home of the Eighth Air Force during World War II. In 1951, the air force detachment stationed at Romulus became known as the 1st Bombardment Wing. After the Korean War, the 9th Bombardment Wing was activated at Romulus and served in that role untilactivated in 1973. The 1st BW's successor, the 355th Bomb Wing, which flew F-4 Phantom jets from Romulus from 1972-1977 also served at Romulus before being transferred to Wright-Patterson AFB OH in 1978. From there it continued flyin Phantom jets until 1990 when it relocated to Whiteman AFB MO where it currently operates today as a B-2 Bomber Wing with Douglas EB-3D Super Hornets. The USAF presence in Romulus dates back to World War II when squadrons of bombers were sent here for training on short notice due to shortages of fighter pilots available overseas. The 8th AF was formed here on October 25th 1941 and mobilizes for war on November 3rd 1941 under Lt Col Charles A Kappenheimer commanding 2nd Group (A) flying Cessna 185s out of RAF Coltishall AB UK). On December 11th 1941, 8AF becomes operational with P-38 Lightning fighters flown by Major General Harry S Hillenkoetter commanding IX Fighter Command USAAF). By early 1942 both VIII Fighter Command and XII Fighter Command had been activated within VIIIFC with PWWR (Pursuit Squadron w/ REServes) equipped with R8F Lancers & P-40 Tomcats at RAF Watton AB UK). In late 1942 ground units are organized into Groups: I (Heavy Bombers), III (Light Bombers), IV (Trucks & Cars], V (Airfields), VI (Ground Forces Assault Troops)]. Each Group is led by a Commander: Lt Colonel John H Reeves VC AFCCommanding I FGAt RAF Thurleigh AB UK; Captured Japanese pilot Maj Yoneo Mitsuru who joins forces with American forces under USMC command during this time; Lieutenant Colonel James W Dixon CBE MCcommanding IV FG At Barham Downs AB UK]; Captured Japanese pilot Captain Tadaharu Oshima who joins forces with American forces under USMC command during this time]. The United States Air Force has a rich history of giving gifts to others. Gifts have been given in many different ways, some more formal and formal than others. Some of the more well-known and memorable gift baskets include the Presidential Gift Basket, the General Motors Victory Garden, and the GoldStar Award for excellence in customer service. There are also unique gift baskets that are specific to particular branch or unit within the USAF. These baskets may be filled with items such as clothing or accessories, military equipment, or even books on air force history. There are also annual gift events where members from all branches of the USAF come together to give a special presentation to someone important within their organization. Although there is no one perfect way to celebrate an Air Force birthday or holiday, there are plenty of ideas on how to show your appreciation for all that they do for humanity! A basket full of unique gifts from all over the world would be a great way to start off your year and show them that you care!

Romulus is a city in Washtenaw County, Michigan, United States. The population was 12,592 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Ann Arbor–Midland–Dearborn Metropolitan Statistical Area. Romulus first became a town in 1872 and then a village in 1902. It was incorporated as a city on July 1, 2002. The name "Romulus" is derived from the Latin word "romagus," meaning "a long-tailed stag." The original settlers were German farmers who arrived in the area around 1800. They named their community after Julius Caesar's grandfather, Ramusius (Ramusius), who had come to America some time earlier as part of an expedition led by George Washington. In 1872, Romulus became the second town in Washtenaw County when it merged with neighboring Sterling Heights and represented part of what would become southeastern Michigan's burgeoning industrial base. Goods produced here included automobiles and other auto parts, fertilizer, steel products and leadmining until World War II when production shifted to war materials such as ammunition and planes. In 1952, Romulus annexed nearby Livingston after that city lost its charter due to lack of voter approval for annexations; this made it one of only two towns in Michigan not annexation-eligible under state law at that time. According to the 2010 census, Romulus has a total population of 12,592; 7% African American or black Americans; 10% Hispanic or Latino Americans; 72% female; 44% male; median income $50,000
