There is no doubt that coffee has been a popular drink for centuries. The first mention of coffee in writing is from the 3rd century BC, when it was mentioned in the book of Aristophanes. In 1847, John Sellers and Charles Goodyear developed a method for making paper from beans. Coffee also started being used as an attractive beverage in Europe during the 16th century. In 1770, Dutch traders discovered Java, and began to trade with the Indonesian people. They brought back coffee plants and started to grow them on their plantations. From this time on, coffee became one of the most important crops in Indonesia. The first espresso machine was invented by Angelo Battista Nardi in 1795. This machine used water and ground beans to make espresso drinks. It was very difficult to make good espresso at that time because there were no machines that could do it properly. However, thanks to Mario Teodoro e Paolo Montalto’s invention of the burr grinder in 1875, espresso became easier and more consistent than ever before. In 1974, Italy founded its own coffee company called Pernod Ricard which became one of the world’s leading brewers of roasts and single origin coffees. Pernod Ricard continues to be one of the world’s leading beverage companies today with a portfolio including over 100 brands across 54 countries worldwide
Coffee beans were first grown in what is now Port Huron, Michigan, in the early 1800s. The city was founded on the Eastern Shore of Michigan by Holland settlers in 1817. Coffee beans were first brought to the area from Illinois by a small group of Dutch traders. In 1837, James Kapp bought some coffee beans from a European trader and started roasted them himself at his home on the east side of the Detroit River. In 1865, J.H. McNaught began importing coffeebeans from California and Connecticut. By 1870, McNaught's company had become one of the largest roasters in the United States. In 1896, John Henry Ford began manufacturing automobile parts in Dearborn, Michigan and soon imported coffee from Brazil to make his own carriages and engines using port-of-call coffee shops as stores. By 1928, Ford's company was exporting over 100 metric tons of coffee each week out of its Dearborn factory!
Port Huron, Michigan is a small city in the US state of Michigan on the Keweenaw Peninsula. The population was 9,878 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Ingham County and is one of the largest cities in Midwestern United States. The city was founded in 1837 by Augustus Miller as a fur trading post on the mouth of the Kawkaw River. It grew rapidly during World War II as an important center for shipbuilding and munitions production; after 1945 it lost much of its importance to Detroit but remains a popular tourist destination. One significant archeological discovery in Port Huron includes two ancient mounds that may date back to 3100 BC.

Coffee production began expanding rapidly in South America during this time as well, and by 1830, Brazilian farmers had started cultivating coffee. The discovery of new lands and opportunities for export led to increased demand for coffee throughout much of Europe and North America. In 1870, Portuguese traders discovered Javacaocó in Brazil and began importing Columbian Columbia (the wild variety) roasts from Colombia, which helped increase production significantly. By 1914, Colombian coffees accounted for almost 60 percent of all global espresso sales; however, World War II caused a decline in tea production that led to a decrease in ColumbianColumbia roasts available for purchase. However, recent advances in processing technology have restored some of these lost flavors and aromas to modern-day Colombian coffees.
The first espresso machines were built in 1885 by Giovanni Becchi, a Italian immigrant. The device was a French press with a water bath and coffee filter. In 1906, Italian businessman Cesare Benedetti created the first true espresso machine using an electric motor and pump. This machine was called the Benedetti Espressore. The first commercial espresso machines were made byItalian manufacturer Adriaen van der Rohe in 1914. He designed and manufactured his own machines, which featured a large water reservoir on the front to hold grounds and milk, as well as a Volta boiler that heated up the water to produce hot coffee.
Port Huron, Michigan, is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and the county seat of Washtenaw County. The population was 869 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Rouge River, about 20 miles (32 km) east of Detroit, within the Metro area served by Detroit Metropolitan Police Department and Wayne County Sheriff's Department. The region that now Port Huron was first settled by Native Americans in what is now Lower Peninsula Michigan around 1000 BC. In 1810, fur traders from Quebec founded Fort Gratiot on the Rouge River to trade with local Indians and build up their supplies for the War of 1812 against Great Britain. When Detroit became a permanent settlement in 1813, traders built stores and homes here until 1830 when construction began on what would become downtown Port Huron as part of an effort to make it more strategic for trading with other parts of Canada and Mexico. At its peak during World War II, Port Huron had a population of over 100,000 people; however it only reached 50,000 by 1960 due to relentless suburban growth within its limits. Today much of downtown Port Huron reminder pre-war activity while smaller areas have been renovated or redeveloped into mixed-use neighborhoods with commercial/ industrial land mixed in close to residential neighborhoods providing easy access to downtown businesses district which includes several large shopping malls including The Woodward Centre mall Industrial development has continued through recent years with major employers being Ford Motor Company (the largest single employer), Mack Trucks Inc., General Motors Corporation (GM), Chrysler LLC., United States Steel Corporation (US Steel), and PNC Financial Services Group - all based in downtown or near Downtown Eastside blocks from each other across two Interstate I-95s freeways providing easy access to each company's many services and products throughout GreaterDetroit Area Lockout Strike: On January 5th 2016 workers at GM plants 1st & 3rd Ward went on strike after eight consecutive years without pay raise following contract negotiations going bad between union leadership& management
