There have been many different incarnations of NortonShores Coffee Museum over time: Since 1996 when Mr., Mrs., John A., Dick Wagner’s Smootho Stand closed down>, there have been six different coffeeplease stands across town! All Sort Of Beans', Big Mike’s Café Annexe', Harry Baumann’s bakery,'Reedy’s Donuts','Bob Dolph’s Coffees'; plus two outdoor concessions all belongingto Dick Wagner himself-'the German Brothers'. These stands have all seen various changes both inside&outside their respective locations.� Though each café always specializedin a certain niche market&served differing quantities (~1-7 cups per customer), they ALL shared one common goal: To bring customers togetheraround the clock during their morning caffeine fix.� Whetherthat meant brewing their own beans or simply purchasing thoseof nearby cafes,, every single node throughout town had some formof coffee providing warmth&company.� Perhaps most importantly,, these shops acted as hubsfor socialization&collecting gossip between locals.-Though not strictly cup-by-cup operations like those aforementioned earlier stands did,-NortorShorescould be classified as “coffeeplease city” insofaras nearly everyone residing therein drank either brewed or purchased coffee.� This wide-based consumptionallowed merchants (& customers) aliketo rotate regularly between these four coffeeshops without any long lines forming behind them!� So much so that even though Rich Ostermeier shutteredhis popular donut shop backfired spectacularlyall five windows along Hoffner Rd fronting ontoMain St were smashed into pieces early last fall......... mere days after reopeningI could already see long queues formingup outside Reedy’s Donuts each morning......'

Norton Shores is a small town located in Washtenaw County, Michigan, United States. The population was 1,873 at the 2010 census. Norton Shores is the only incorporated community in Washtenaw County. The name of the town was given to it by General George Washington and named after Major John Norton who fought in the French and Indian War. The first permanent settler on land that would become Norton Shores was James Purdy in 1837. He built a log cabin on what is now State Route 269. Other early settlers included William Fenton, who founded an mill in 1839; Elijah Hughes, who platted what is now North Park Avenue in 1840; and Isaac Hillman, who established a schoolhouse and store near present day Main Street in 1843. In 1846, Drury & Co., suppliers of goods to the Michigan Central Railroad (MCRR), moved fromonia to Norton Shores for their new depot on Depot Road. By 1850, there were six stores and two churches in Norton Shore with a population of about 100 people. There also were several residences and a few businesses including Fenton's Mill which still stands today as part of state Route 269 north of town limits along with old Smith's grocery building which still stands adjacent to Old High School property east of town limits complete with its original porch roofline - both are listed on the National Register of Historic Places In 1861-1862 during the American Civil War Union forces burned down one house near present day Eastown Avenue while stationed at Fort Gratiot outside of town limits After the war many residents left for various reasons such as joining local militias or moving west into more war-torn areas like Missouri or Kansas City because they could not get work back home In 1865 General Order No 2 was issued allowing white men over 21 years old to own land within city boundaries This led to increased settlement within city limits as farmers purchased sections of land east and west of Main Street between Center Drive and White Oak Road for development into townships

Coffee was popularized by the Spanish in the 18th century and it became known as La Caza de Cocas (The Hunt of Cocoa). Java was part of Indonesia during this time and coffee beans were also traded there. The Dutch discovered coffee in Sumatra in 1597 and began exporting it to Europe. Coffee beans were also traded with Japan and China. In 1795, a group of French traders traveled to Indonesia to trade coffee with the Javanese people. They found that the locals had a special type of bean which they called Rojo Negra (Red Bean). This bean was very expensive to purchase but it tasted very good. After tasting this unusual bean, the French traders decided to distribute these beans throughout their empire. From then on, coffee would be one of the most important commodities exported from Holland. In 1893, an Italian professor named Giovanni Bianconi developed a process for making espresso which later became known as cafetalismo (coffee drinking). This new method allowed people to produce high-quality espresso without using milk or water. However, this new technology wasn’t popular among Italians because they found it difficult to make sure that their espresso tastes good enough for others to want to drink it. Bianconi’s nephew Francesco Bianconi developed another way of making espresso which is now know as lungo (long) roasting which allows more flavor development and longer brewing times than regular roasting periods。 In 1961, two brothers named Gordon Wasson and John Atanasoff developed microwave ovens which could heat up water until it turned into steam inside a vat like an open flame stovetop pan or wok (). This discovery ledto widespread use of microwaves around the world for cooks such as pasta cooking (), dishes (), meat frying (), soup making () etc.). After finding out about this technology through television program “Sesame Street”(), some parents began teaching their children how to cook using microwaves by setting up temporary kitchens in their homes (). Norton Shores is part of the Muskegon Heights Micropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Norton Shores was John A. Norton, who arrived in 1836 and named his land after his uncle, Sir Josiah Norton, 5th Baronet (1795-1865). The first store opened in 1839 and two years later a post office was established. The first blacksmith shop opened in 1847 and by 1860 there were five stores and one blacksmith business in operation. In 1861, a school was built and remains in use today as Nashoba Elementary School. In 1870, a gristmill was built on the banks of the river by John Wirths; it remained active until 1984 when it became part of Navarre Mill Corporation's property line known as Old Mill Road which changed hands several times before being sold to Joe Kappich Jr., founder of Kappich Chevrolet dealership on Saginaw Street near where zip code 48910 now stands. In 1910, when Norton Shores became an incorporated village with a mayor and three trustees, William Halsey (1864-1938) served as its first mayor; he had been elected unopposed to serve out his four-year term that began on July 1st that year following passage of an act providing for incorporation by vote only over opponents who could not attend meetings due to personal reasons or health problems within 12 months prior to election date--a provision designed primarily to prevent any factions from forming around candidates seeking election without support from local residents or businesses). A post office operated at Norton Shores from 1850 until 1915; during this time mail service arrived twice daily via United States Mail Boat No 6 from Big Rapids across Mackinac Island carrying mail between Fort Mackinac and Detroit while also delivering messages between towns ashore including Ann Arbor and other villages along the way including those located on both sides of the straits such as Bay City which received their mail directly from Detroit instead then having it carried ashore along with military supplies bound for troops fighting during World War I The village adopted its present name on November 3rd 1916 when George Moulton published an article entitled "Nortonshores Village: Its Origin And Development" in Indian Head Gazetteer volume 2 number 7 pages 36-49 which described how community development plans submitted by members thereof to US Village Affairs Department resulted in proposal for change from "Nashoba" meaning "peaceful home" back to its currentintoname after much debate amongst residents led by Mr Moulton who felt that given what had happened since its original designation it should be remembered more fondly than currently observed .Moultons article has been reprinted numerous times both online & offline through various blog/forums throughout recent years
