Tactical Coffee, Inc. is a family-owned and operated business in New Baltimore, Michigan since 1976. The company has been providing quality coffee to the community since 1984. Tactical Coffee has been a part of the United States Military for over 25 years and has grown throughout the years by stocking local and international brands as well as their own line of coffee beans. The first office on Bagley Street in downtown New Baltimore was started by John Gentry with his wife Linda in 1984. It was located on the second floor of Gentry's old jewelry store across from the post office. At that time, there were only two other businesses in town - JC Penney and Sears - so it was an important addition to the community. Today, Tactical Coffee offers its customers more than just coffee; they offer a warm welcome, friendly service, and great deals on all their products! The tacocoffee shop became one of the most popular tourist attractions in town during the late 1990s when it began}{selling} cups of joe not just for locals but also for visitors coming through town on military bases or tourist traps like White Sands Missile Range! In 2001, Tactical Coffee moved into what is now their current location at 501 Bagley Street SE in downtown New Baltimore{.} The space had been vacated by another business which had closed down after being bought by developers who planned to turn it into apartments/residential property originally! It didn't take long for people to realize that this space could use some improvement - especially given that it had become cluttered and cramped inside! So bagels were born...and slowly but surely others{.} In 2007 {Drummond's}, a local independent bakery opened up next door {to} provide fresh doughnuts every morning while supplies last! New Baltimore, Michigan was a small town located on the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, in the now-defunct county of Ingham. It was founded by John and Martha Denton in 1837 as a farmstead named Short Hills. The city of New Baltimore was created in 1907 when the entire lower peninsula was annexed by Detroit. The population of New Baltimore peaked at around 25,000 during World War II; however, it declined after the war and has remained below 10,000 ever since. NewBaltimore’s history is intimately connected with that of its sister city to the north, Detroit. For many years both towns were part of what was known as “The Upper Peninsula” – a term used for areas east and south of Lake Huron that lay outside the jurisdiction of Wayne County. However, following changes within Wayne County over the course of the 20th century, NewBaltimore became an enclave within its own government structure. Today, much like Detroit before it, New Baltimore retains a strong sense of community identity and cooperation – two qualities that have helped contribute to its continued decline as a commercial center and social center. Its downtown area is still home to several businesses and organizations which continue to serve as staples in their local economies: The Catholic Church (St Joseph’s), The Library (Lansing), Saint Dominic School (New Baltimore), and Holy Name Parish (Detroit). Additionally, there are also numerous heritage-listed buildings dating back to pre-war times which continue to be used for business or education purposes today.
