The history of shooters in Mount Clemens, Michigan dates back to the early 1800s. At that time, the area was a rural community and there were few opportunities for people to get involved in the shooting sports. However, over time, the community has become known for its annual Mt. Clemens shotgun shoot-out. This event is one of the most important gatherings of shotguns enthusiasts in the United States and is considered an important part of rifle and shotgun culture. One of the first shooters in Mount Clemens was John Fenton. He arrived in 1827 and started shooting with a muzzleloader at local fairs. In 1828, Fenton moved to Mount Clemens and began shooting handguns as well. By 1830, he had opened his own gun shop on Main Street where he sold firearms, ammunition, and gunspowder. Over time, other dealers joined Fenton at his store and it became one of the most popular locations forgun shopping in Mount Clemens. In 1835, Isaac Frenchopened his own gunshop on Third Street near downtown Mount Clemens. Frenchman's shop wasX-rayed by city inspectors in 1837 because they were concerned about potential weapons being smuggled into town from Detroit through his door! French responded by installing metal detectors inside his shop which helped keep him safe from crime during those days when firearm ownership was still a secret society affair! His business thrived until 1862 when he succumbed to illness before he could open another store! In 1840, John Haggerty opened up shops on Main Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue west of downtown Mount Pleasant (now called Clinton). Haggerty's businesses operated independently until about 1865 when they merged into one organization under the name "Mount Pleasant Gun Works". The company continued trading under this name until 1886 when it became part of National Firearms Company (NFC). From 1888-1914 NFC produced many products including shotguns, rifles, pistols & revolvers under a variety of different brand names including Savage Arms Company (SA), Winchester Repeating Arms Company (WRAC), Metropolitan Arms Manufacturing Co.(MAPC), Colt Firearms Corporation(CFB), Smith & Wesson Firearms Corporation(SWF) etc., among others! During World War I (1914-18), NFC produced over 2 million rounds of ammunition alone! During World War II (1939-45), NFC production increased tenfold due to increased munitions demand from both Allied Forces and Axis Powers alike! After World War II ended (>1945), NPC Produced approximately $2 billion worth total firearms products throughout its various brands!!!

The Mount Clemens, Michigan Shooter's History Museum is a museum which preserves the history of shooters in the town of Mount Clemens, Michigan. The museum was founded in 1984 and has been open to the public since then. It contains over 50 different firearms from around the world and includes displays on both American and international Shooters' history.
Mount Clemens is a small city in the U.S. state of Michigan, located on the eastern shore of Lake Erie. The population was 9,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Detroit metropolitan area. The first settlers in what would become Mount Clemens arrived in 1817 and named it after their hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. The town grew rapidly due to its location on shipping routes and its access to navigable water resources such as the Detroit River and Niagara River. By 1830, Mount Clemens had a steamboat landing, hotel and stores. A post office was established in 1831 and growth continued until 1854 when railroad construction began cutting off direct access to the town from downtown Detroit. In 1860, during the American Civil War, General Lew Wallace's army passed through Mount Clemens on their way south for battle against Confederate General Robert E Grant at Iuka Hill near present-day Monroe Township in east-central Michigan; local historian Edwin Sisson has written that "the city was an open town with multitudes streaming out along both banks of Buffalo Creek" when Wallace's forces reached it late on October 25th; although most residents had already evacuated for fear of hostilities ensuing across the border between Union States and Confederate States (of America), more than 2,000 men from Mount Clemens were taken captive by Confederate forces before being released two days later when Federal troops emerged victorious from Iuka Hill without engagement or loss – a victory which helped solidify Wallace's status as one of America's leading military figures during the Civil War." MountClemens transitioned into an agricultural center following World War II as demand for food increased among Allied troops stationed abroad; however manufacturing activity also took hold during this time with production facilities built near downtown including a foundry and plant making munitions; however these endeavors failed to generate any significant economic development over time despite high levels of input tax revenuegenerated by these operations - creating one of Michigan’s largest income disparities between rural versus urban areas within decades after statehood. Mount Clemens is a small town in Northern Michigan, located on the east side of the Upper Peninsula. The population was 1,576 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Muskegon Heights, MI Micropolitan Statistical Area. The first post office in Mount Clemens was established in 1836 and it moved to its present location in 1868. The town started as a farming community with a population of about seventy-five people. Manufacturing began arriving to Mount Clemens in the early 1920s when an aluminum smelter was built there. By 1930, Mount Clemens had become a manufacturing center for aluminum products with more than two hundred jobs. In recent years, however, mountclemens has experienced declines in both its manufacturing and retail sectors due to competition from other towns along I-75 north of Mt Clemens and from downtown Lansing. Today, MountClemens's main attraction is its high school which has been called "the best high school in Michigan". In addition to lacrosse and baseball teams that are very successful on statewide levels (the Lacrosse team has won state championships 4 times), there are also several other sports teams including soccer, badminton, cross country running/walking/hiking etc... There are also several restaurants and pubs located around town as well as some businesses that have been around for many years like Home Improvement Centers or Lumber Yard stores

In the 1840s, the area became known as "The Arsenal of Democracy" because of its role in manufacturing munitions during the American Civil War.
